UFC 205 will take place on November 12, 2016 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. Follow here for predictions and information on the event's card, lineup of matches and news regarding the pay-per-view. Here are my predictions for UFC 205.

predictions for UFC 205 pay-per-view Alvarez vs McGregor

MAIN CARD

LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: Eddie Alvarez (c) vs Conor McGregor (c)

I wasn't sure about McGregor stepping up to the 155lb division, but seeing him fight Nate Diaz the way he did gives me the confidence that he can fight smart. That mixed with Alvarez preferring to stand up makes this an easy prediction for me.

PREDICTION: Conor McGregor, 2nd round KO.

WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: Tyron Woodley (c) vs Stephen Thompson (#2)

I'm not looking forward to this fight, not really a huge fan of either of these guys and I just hope they put on a good show.

PREDICTION: Stephen Thompson, 4th round KO.

STRAWWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: Joanna Jedrzejczyk (c) vs Karolina Kowalkiewicz (#2)

First title fight of the night and my second favourite fight on the entire card, after the main event. Both women are undefeated and I think this will be very close.

PREDICTION: Joanna Jedrzejczyk, decision.

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Chris Weidman (#2) vs Yoel Romero (#4)

This should be a great fight and the winner should fight Michael Bisping for the title next. Chris Weidman has fought much better people but I think Romero has what it takes to win this fight and then go on to take the title from Bisping.

PREDICTION: Yoel Romero, 3rd round KO.

BANTAMWEIGHT: Miesha Tate (#1) vs Raquel Pennington (#8)

Tate's first fight back since losing the Bantamweight Championship and surely she won't lose this.

PREDICTION: Miesha Tate, 1st round submission.

PRELIMINARY CARD

FEATHERWEIGHT: Frankie Edgar (#2) vs Jeremy Stephens (#7)

Jeremy Stephens is the self-proclaimed hardest hitter at 145lb. I don't see him beating Frankie Edgar though.

PREDICTION: Frankie Edgar, 1st round submission.

LIGHTWEIGHT: Khabib Nurmagomedov (#2) vs Michael Johnson (#6)

This is my 3rd favourite fight on this card and I don't know why it is so far down the card. I would love to see Nurmagomedov be the first person to ever KO Michael johnson, but it's more likely to end on the ground.

PREDICTION: Khabib Nurmagomedov, 2nd round submission.

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Rafael Natal (#14) vs Tim Boetsch

Both guys have some good wins and losses against good fighters that skews their records slightly. This one is tough to call, either Boetsch gets the KO or it goes all the way.

PREDICTION: Rafael Natal, decision.

WELTERWEIGHT: Vicente Luque vs Belal Muhammad

This should be an interesting fight, both guys are yet to be KO'd in their career but Luque's ground game is much stronger. I'm torn between and KO for Muhammad and a submission for Luque...

PREDICTION: Vicente Luque, 3rd round submission.

EARLY PRELIMINARY CARD

LIGHTWEIGHT: Jim Miller vs Thiago Alves

Alves will want to stay on his feet, Miler will try to take it to the ground, I'm not expecting much from this fight, lets hope it gives us a surprise.

PREDICTION: Jim Miller, 2nd round submission.

BANTAMWEIGHT: Liz Carmouche (#9) vs Katlyn Chookagian (#14)

Carmouche has had an inconsistent record in the past few years and Chookagian is undefeated, despite not having many difficult fights. Should be interesting.

PREDICTION: Katlyn Chookagian, decision.

Are you excited for UFC 205, who do you think will win each bout and who will walk out with each of the championship belts? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
