A NEW ADDITION TO THE FAMILY?
I previously wrote a heat column on my disinterest in the Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt feud. It was a combination of assuming Bray will lose, not knowing why they were feuding, and still not grasping what Bray is on about half the time.
However, this past week on SmackDown gave me a shimmer of hope that things are going to get a lot more interesting. Ever since the inception of The Wyatt Family, we have heard Bray talk about Sister Abigail, but not to at any great length or with extensive detail.
There once was speculation over which WWE or NXT Diva (speaking historically here) might take on the mantle of the Wyatt matriarch, but eventually the idea simmered away into the nixed ideas abyss, and not much more thought was given on the subject.
But now, for the first time, Bray was seen to have been speaking to her whilst off-screen. What does this mean? Are we actually going to get her debut at No Mercy? Will it be a new face, or someone who has been missing for a little while? Paige, perhaps?
All I do know is that I am very much looking forward to finding out.
CHEAP HEAT OF THE WEEK:
A BLAND REBRAND
The Diva Search is back! Oh, wait. No, it is just a repackaging announcement for Emma.
We learned on Raw that WWE's first Australian women's wrestler is soon to be known as Emmalina. The difference? Uhh, she is now sexier, I think?
So, why is this my Heat choice? First, could Emma have not recorded something for it? This lazy video was created from what appeared to be Instagram and Twitter selfies. Secondly, did we not just have a Divas Revolution? Maybe the bikini photos in this video are unrelated, but I do hope that they are not indication of where the Emmalina character is going.
I will reserve further thoughts until she actually returns, but between her hypnotic music, quirky personality, fierce ring style, and Ice Queen/Power Ranger villain look, I always thought that she was one of the more interesting women on the roster.
Please say that you have thought through whatever it is you are doing with her, WWE?
So there you have it, my two choices for the week. What do YOU think are the Cheap Pop and Cheap Heat this week in professional wrestling? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
