WWE NXT TakeOver: Toronto 2016 Results

Currently, we're on the pre-show. Charly Caruso appears to be taking over instead of Renee Young for the panel at least for now, if not for the foreseeable future. She's doing a fairly good job.

Bobby Roode vs. Tye Dillinger

Roode now has a choir to sing his entrance theme. Amazing.

RESULTS: Bobby Roode wins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Fun match with a lively crowd. I'm very glad to see that it was an even contest, too, and not just something to put Roode over in a squash or anything of that sort.

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Finals: The Authors of Pain vs. TM-61

RESULTS: The Authors of Pain win via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: I'm actually pretty surprised about this. I figured Nick Miller and Shane Thorne would win as a means to give them momentum to challenge for the tag titles in the future. Hm...

NXT Tag Team Championship 2-Out-of-3-Falls Match: The Revival (c) vs. #DIY

The Revival get the first fall as Wilder pins Gargano.
#DIY gets the second fall as Ciampa pins Dawson.
#DIY get the third and final decision via submission.

RESULTS: #DIY are your new NXT Tag Team champions!
THOUGHTS: Well I completely didn't see this coming from my original predictions, as I thought both tag matches would go the opposite direction.

NXT Women's Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs. Mickie James

RESULTS: Asuka via submission.
THOUGHTS: Very good match. It's great to see Mickie back and she doesn't seem to have lost a step. Asuka having to fight back was a nice thing to see, too, instead of having her just be dominant like always.

After the match, Mickie offers a handshake to Asuka, who just holds her championship up, signifying her somewhat heel status.

NXT Championship Match: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Samoa Joe

RESULTS: Samoa Joe wins the championship via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Not as good as their previous match, but it was still entertaining enough, and holy shit am I surprised at the title change.

Stay tuned for my post-show recap and review podcast coming up on YouTube, iTunes and on Stitcher.
