Last week, SmackDown Live came to us with their roster for the first time since the draft. We have our SmackDown SummerSlam main event. Dolph Ziggler will challenge Dean Ambrose for the WWE Championship after he won a six pack challenge match in SmackDowns main event. I'm sure we'll see the story between John Cena and AJ Styles speed up going into SummerSlam, and we saw Randy Orton in his first match back as he hit that RKO outta nowhere against The Miz. Hopefully we see what else SmackDown has in store heading into the biggest party of the summer! Oh, and the debut of American Alpha!

PROMO (Backstage): Randy Orton, Shane, and Daniel Bryan are backstage watching Randy Orton RKO Brock Lesnar last night. Shane says he put everything at risk and it wasn't something he should've done, but it was pretty awesome. Randy asks if all the security is necessary, and Shane says yes because they can't risk Brock getting in the building or getting to Randy before SummerSlam, and they know he'll try. Then The Miz pops up. The Miz pops up and is complaining of course and he asks why they are treating him so poorly. DB agrees that he wasn't excited to draft him but the IC Title. He then says that tonight they are having a New Era triple threat match tonight to determine the number on contender to his IC Title. Baron Corbin vs. Apollo Crews(he calls him Apollo Creed), and Kalisto.

PROMO (In-Ring): Our champ, Dean Ambrose, is in the ring! He says he got here by busting his butt everyday year after year and beating his former Shield brothers. Now its about staying on top and building his legacy. He isn't a one hit wonder, he is here to stay. Now its time for SummerSlam and Dolph Ziggler. He then invites Dolph to the ring. Dolph starts off by saying he is a big fan of Dean and that the two of them are awful similar. Dean disagrees because Dolph is all show, while he is all go. No one is taking that from him. Dolph said that Dean came in with The Shield, and he came in as a male cheerleader with The Spirit Squad. They didn't come in on similar paths. Dean says he wastes his time complaining, while he doesn't care about roadblocks and what people think. Dolph only cares about his image. He only cares what people think. The fans, the office, and so many others that he shouldn't care about. That makes him the man who is going to lose at SummerSlam. Yeah he may steal the show at SummerSlam, but Dean is going to keep the belt. Dolph recants his childhood saying he always wanted to do this, a walk on at Kent State that broke records. He has ben underappreciated, undervalued, and underused for 7 years. He is going into SummerSlam, burning Brooklyn to the ground, and walking out as Champ because he is that damn good. Dean simply says "No you're not.", and his real problem is that he just isn't as good as he thinks he is. Dean leaves, but then out of nowhere Bray Wyatt appears and hits a Sister Abigail on Dolph. He calls Dolph worthless and that he doesn't deserve the power of a champion. Wyatt says that Dolph stole that opportunity from him, so he offers a challenge. Face him tonight, and if Dolph wins then he proves he is worthy of his number one contendership. But if he fails, Bray takes his place at SummerSlam.

PROMO (Backstage): Dolph goes up to Daniel Bryan and Shane and asks if they saw what happened with Bray and his challenge. They tell him not to worry about it, but Dolph says they need to make the match. They seem surprised and advise he doesn't do this as he has a clear path to a title shot. He persists saying that Dean, Bray, and everyone else thinks he doesn't deserves this shot. They need to make the match, and make it now. And they do.

MATCH: Baron Corbin vs. Apollo Crews vs. Kalisto

This match decides who the number one contender will be for The Miz's Intercontinental Championship.

The Miz and Maryse are on commentary.

After the match all hell breaks loose. Corbin ends Kalisto, Crews comes back for Corbin, Miz takes out Crews, and Corbin hits The End of Days on The Miz to stand tall.

RESULTS: Apollo Crews wins via pin fall.
THOUGHTS: Some pretty good spots in this match. I figured it would be Corbin, but I'll take Crews. I'm hopeful Miz retains, because I love him as a heel champ.

*Commercial Break*

MATCH: Becky Lynch vs. Eva Marie

Before the match begins, Eva complains of hamstring issues and they call for a trainer, and they say she cannot compete.

RESULTS: No match.
THOUGHTS: I understand they want Eva to have heat. The chorus of boos she got proves that they didn't need to waste time doing it this way.

PROMO (Backstage): Renee is talking to Carmella about the recent injury, and Carmella says she can smell a scam from a mile away. Then Natty comes in complaining that she isn't getting interviewed. Natty says that the division needs her and no one can beat her. Carmella takes her up on that saying she'll prove The Queen of Staten Island has what it takes.

*Commercial Break*

MATCH: American Alpha vs. The Vaudevillians

American Alpha's SmackDown Live debut!

RESULTS: American Alpha wins via pin fall.
THOUGHTS: Future tag team champions in AA. These guys are explosive, talented, and most of all.. Entertaining. These guys should do big things.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (In-Ring): AJ Styles has a message for John Cena. AJ gets about 6 words in before Cena comes on out himself. Cena is ready to hear this message AJ has for him. AJ says this is typical Cena. Smug and self centered. Since he is out here he could do his favorite thing and that's beat up John Cena. AJ says before he was rudely interrupted he was going to say what his real problem with Cena is. He has beaten up in that ring and he is still in WWE, and AJ doesn't want him here. He is no noble hero, and everyone that thinks he is is just weak minded. He then goes on to the kids. The "stupid, idiot, delusional little kids". And their equally delusional parents. Just as delusional as those parents and kids is John Cena. He believes what the kids think is true about him. The hard truth is you don't get a trophy for participation, you get it for winning. And AJ has a win over John Cena. John says he never forced the people to believe in anything. They make up their own words, and their own chants. AJ is bound to proof to Cenation that he is nothing but a fraud. He beat him already so why is he stil here? John says that is wrong to call people delusional for believing in something, and that asking why he is still here is ridiculous. 15 years and the answer has been the same. He is here out of love. Love for the business. The love of the look on kids faces cheering for their stars, and love when parents thank him for what he does. And he loves the chances to do the ESPY's and etc. He always gets asked when he is leaving WWE, and that answer is never because it is his home. He loves this brand, company, and all the people that allow him to live his dream. AJ is here only to be a good wrestler, and h can pick up and go anywhere to do that. There is no place else for John. He is here out of love, so what the hell is AJ doing here? All AJ does is give him a standing ovation. Saying that's exactly what he thought he'd say. the John that never backs away from a challenge. AJ wants a match at SummerSlam. One on one. No Club. Man to man. Cena agrees. AJ says the best part will be the Tuesday after he wins at SummerSlam, and Cena says that AJ Styles is better than him. If he doesn't say that, he's a liar, and if he does say it he is a loser. Either way AJ wins.

MATCH: Randy Orton vs. Fandango (w Tyler Breeze)

Security guards surround the ring in preparation for an attack from Brock Lesnar in revenge for Randy Orton attacking him on Raw last night with a nasty RKO outta nowhere.

Brock Lesnar is here! He fights through security to hit and F5 on the Viper! Commissioner Shane McMahon and GM Daniel Bryan along with several security guards come down to the ring and Lesnar leaves quietly. Statement made by Brock Lesnar.

RESULTS: A DQ I guess?
THOUGHTS: I knew Brock would be here, but it was still awesome. I'm super pumped for a The Viper vs. The Beast. A match I've wanted since Brock came back originally in 2012. A long time coming for sure.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO (Backstage): Heath Slater shows up in Daniel Bryans office. Heath wants a spot on the roster. Daniel Bryan says he has to earn it. He will take on Rhino next week and if he wins, he gets his spot.

PROMO (Backstage): Renee is with Dean Ambrose and she asks what he thinks about the Bray and Dolph match later tonight. Dean says anything can happen, but he is surprised. He figured I would take longer than a week for Dean to self destruct, but hey anything can happen.

*Commercial Break*

MATCH: Carmella vs. Natalya

As Carmella is doing her entrance, she is attacked by Natty who locks her in the Sharpshooter outside the ring.

RESULTS: No match.
THOUGHTS: I was kind of expecting this.

PROMO (Backstage): Shane and Bryan again try to stop Dolph from having this match. Telling him he has a title shot and there is no reason to put it at risk. He looks at them and says "Great, you guys don't believe in me either." To which they try to explain that is not true. He stares them down and says "Screw you." and leaves them baffled as he walks off.

*Commercial Break*

MATCH: Dolph Ziggler vs. Bray Wyatt

If Dolph wins, he keeps his title shot at SummerSlam. If Bray wins, he will replace Ziggler and take on Dean Ambrose for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam.

WWE World Champion, Dean Ambrose, is on commentary.

Erick Rowan attacks Dolph Ziggler post match. Dean comes in to help his opponent, but Bray and Rowan get the upper hand. We'll have a tag match next week I'm sure.

RESULTS: Dolph Ziggler wins via pin fall.
THOUGHTS: I was holding out hope that Bray would win as I'm not the biggest Dolph Ziggler fan, but giving credit where its due it was a solid match to end a solid show. Dolph Ziggler vs. Dean Ambrose remains the SmackDown Live SummerSlam main event.
