MIXING IT UP
Week two of the all new Monday Raw got off to a stellar start. For the first time in years, we had a mixed tag team match, and I have to admit, I loved everything about it.
The promos between the two teams were absolutely on point. Chris Jericho and Enzo Amore may have very different verbal jousting skills, but there was something that gelled brilliantly between the pair. Add to the mix some zingers from Charlotte and Sasha Banks, and you had a very entertaining segment all around.
The match itself was also a big thrill too, and featured some excellent wrestling from both teams. Intergender matches can often feel like a take it in turns singles bout, but they managed to avoid this pitfall and make it something far for more exciting.
Can this pave the way for more mixed tag team matches? Given the caliber of women and male competitors in WWE today, I certainly hope so.
CHEAP HEAT OF THE WEEK:
THE BAND GETS BACK TOGETHER (BRIEFLY)
Hey everybody! Jinder Mahal's back! We all heard rumors that our old favorites would be coming back for the draft, so I am glad to see WWE coming through on that one...
Although, maybe not so much a Heat as it was a massive indifference, and given that his most significant popularity is as one-third of 3MB, I am not exactly predicting big things now that he has distanced himself from Heath Slater.
Meanwhile, some guy called Kurt Angle still roams the wrestling wilderness. I hear he is quite accomplished.
EXTRA HEAT: Stealing More Than The Show?
The entrance of Billy Gunn, the finisher of Shawn Michaels, and now the catch phrase of Triple H. Whoops! Anything you want to add of X-Pac or Road Dogg's while you are at it, Dolph?
So there you have it, my two choices for the week. What do YOU think are the Cheap Pop and Cheap Heat this week in professional wrestling? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
