The WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture just got a little more.. Crazy. Dean Ambrose now has a new moniker, WWE World Heavyweight Champion! He was Mr. Money In The Bank for all of an hour before cashing in and winning his first ever championship!! The PPV also saw WWE Tag Team Champions, The New Day, retain their titles in a crazy tag team fatal four way, and the indie darling AJ Styles beats John Cena. Not fairly however. Anderson and Gallows, who were barred from ringside pretty much, interfere with the match after the ref gets inadvertently knocked out. Rusev also retained the US Title(shocking right). For more results, simply go here. Now for tonight, expect a lot of Dean Ambrose!

PROMO: The first promo of the night belongs to the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion! The Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose! Dean had a hell of a night last night as he won the Money in The Bank ladder match, and then cashed in on Seth Rollins after he cleanly defeated Roman Reigns in the main event. The champ starts off by saying, fighting through the "You deserve it!" chants, that last night was a long night in Las Vegas. Seth Rollins also had a long night. Dean calls him the right guy, at the right place, at the wrong time. What goes around comes around, as Seth cashed in to win his first title just like Dean. He said if Roman is "The guy." does that make him "the dude"? He said that you can call him whatever you want, but you have to call him champion. Before the celebration goes any further, out comes Roman Reigns. Roman had to watch at ringside after losing to Seth Rollins as Dean cashed in and won the title from Seth. Every member of The Shield was the WWE Champ at some point last night, which is crazy to think about. Roman admits that last night just wasn't his night, but it was certainly Deans. He congratulates the new champ, and he doesn't care what anyone says. Dean is "his boy" and he's happy for him. He asked how good it felt to cash in on Seth, and Dean replies that he would've cashed in on him too. He asked if Dean is a fighting champ because he has a rematch, but then is interrupted by Seth Rollins who is foaming at the mouth with anger. He said he won the title fair and square before it was stolen after working his ass off for 7 months. That isn't how this is going to work. Seth says he never lost his first title, so Roman can head to the back of the line. Roman says there is a very simple way to settle this, and drops his mic. Seth says there is nothing to settle, because he has already beat Roman. The out comes Shane-O-Mac! Shane says that Roman and Seth should have another match, but Seth disagrees and says they should consult Stephanie. Shane says that he'll check with her, but she isn't here. So she loves the idea. That match is going to happen right here tonight, and the winner will face Ambrose in his first title defense.

They announce that the WWE Draft will happen on the first live edition of Tuesday Night SmackDown on July 19th.

They also announce that Paige will challenge Charlotte for the WWE Women's Championship tonight.

*Commercial Break*

MATCH: Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens

After the match, KO attacks Sami on the ramp and gets ready to power bomb him off the ramp. Then the refs come in and break them up.

RESULT: Sami Zayn wins via pin fall.
THOUGHTS: I figured after KO lost Money in The Bank that they'd book him on some kind of little losing streak thing. But I loved this match, Sami winning on a roll up pin is awesome. I love both of these guys and their long standing rivalry.

*Commercial Break*

After the commercial break they show more brawling backstage between Sami and KO while being separated by referees and WWE employees.

PROMO: John Laurinaitis is here.. People Power.. Please no. He stands behind the SmackDown podium on the stage, and makes his case to be GM. Then Shane comes in and asks what he is doing here at all. John says he is ready to run SmackDown. Shane says that's never going to happen, and that a corporate yes man will not run either show. The person who runs SmackDown will invoke change, and that person will be him. So John says that's fine, he will run Raw instead. Then Shane forces him to leave.

*Commercial Break*

MATCH: Enzo & Cass vs. The Vaudevillians

RESULT: Enzo & Cass win via pin fall.
THOUGHTS: This was a breeze for Enzo & Cass with Vaudevillians putting up basically no fight. I think the tag titles change hands at Battleground, and I hope Enzo & Cass walk out with them Only time will tell.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO: AJ Styles is here to talk about his controversial win over John Cena last night. AJ admits that his match was tainted against John last night. And it was by two guys who were supposed to be his brothers. He then calls then out to the ring, but all he asks them to do is apologize to his face. So they apologize, but he wants them to apologize to one more person. John Cena. When John comes out he says he doesn't want or need an apology. AJ signed a contract and he broke it, simple as that. Gallows and Anderson say that AJ had no idea they were going to come out to the ring, and they didn't sign a contract like AJ. John says that this is the time that he could be moving on to bigger and better things but instead he is in the ring with The Club back peddling knowing he can't beat him one on one. AJ says that John is using them as an excuse because he would've lost anyway. AJ says that as a prize, John gets to choose anyone in The Club he could fight tonight that isn't himself. John says it doesn't matter who he chooses because one is in the ring, and two will be ringside and once they realize he is going to win it'll be 3 on 1. AJ says that he's wrong, and that's why nobody likes him because he thinks he is always right. AJ says it is Karl Anderson vs. John Cena one on one and he will beat him all on his own. Don't forget AJ Styles is on the Stone Cold Podcast right after Raw on the Network.

MATCH: John Cena vs. Karl Anderson

Cena destroyed Anderson throughout the entire match, and as soon as he hit the AA he was ambushed and beaten in a 3 on 1 assault.

RESULT: John Cena wins via DQ.
THOUGHTS: This was expected. Does an apology actually mean anything in WWE? Lol. I really wish The Club would've stayed out of this last night and just have AJ get a clean win, but we can't always get what we want.

PROMO: Seth is backstage with Jojo, and she asks him about his match with Reigns tonight. But instead, he wants to talk about last night. He proved he is the best and that Roman never deserved that belt when he beat Roman fair and square in the middle of the ring. Dean also proved something. That he is a thief and a cockroach. Even though he suffered a setback, he is ready to prove himself again tonight and that he is thee best member of the former Shield.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO: Becky is with Renee and she asks her about Natty turning on her last night. This was the third "friend" that has turned on Becky since her main roster move. She doesn't understand it, but she is done making excuses. She is taking the knife out of her back and no more apologies or second chances. After that Natty attacks her again, and says for the first time in years she is taking care of herself.

MATCH: Baron Corbin vs. Zack Ryder

RESULT: Baron Corbin wins via pin fall.
THOUGHTS: This was a gimme here, but I expect Corbin to be thrown into a title picture sometime soon after his series of wins.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO: Renee is with Paige and asks about her recent success against Charlotte. Paige says that her and Charlotte aren't exactly strangers, but then catches Renee looking at something behind her. That something is Charlotte and Dana looking at their phones and talking loudly. Paige says that Charlotte never lets anyone have the spotlight, but Charlotte says that the win last week was Dana's fault. To which Dana agrees. Charlotte reminds her that when Team PCB split, she rose to the top while Paige sunk like the Titanic. Paige reminds her that the ring is her house, and that the belt will look a lot better around her waist after tonight.

WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Charlotte (c)(w Dana) vs. Paige

After the match, back comes Sasha Banks! Sasha disposes of Dana Brooke and locks her eyes on Charlotte. Before she can get out of the ring she throws Charlotte down and then Paige comes back to help get rid of Dana. Sasha stands tall with the belt.

RESULT: Charlotte wins via pin fall and retains her title.
THOUGHTS: This result wasn't surprising, but Sasha's return was. I figured that match would happen at SummerSlam, but maybe we get it at Battleground instead. Either way, welcome back Sasha!

PROMO: Jojo asks Roman about his loss last night, and Roman again admits it wasn't his night. But tonight that changes.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO: Ladies and gentlemen, the Wyatts are back! Bray, Rowan, and Stroman are back. No Harper it seems, but they've been missed. Bray says they've been punished and locked away, but through it all they haven't forgotten what they stand for. This is a promise and a warning that they are stronger than they've ever been. They are then interrupted by the power of positivity! The New Day and The Wyatts?! Xavier Woods says that they're talking way too long and need to cut it. Kofi says every time The New Day comes out everyone has a good time, unlike when The Wyatts are in the ring spewing negativity. Xavier seems confused and staring at Bray, and Bray starts laughing saying they have no idea what they've done interrupting his return. Their future holds a new chant.. Bray starts "New Day falls.. New Day falls.. Whatchu waiting for? Run."

*Commercial Break*

MATCH: Titus O'Neil vs. Rusev (w Lana)

Titus asked for this match tonight after Rusev blatantly disrespected him and his family last night after beating him.

The match never got underway before Titus snaps and destroys Rusev forcing him to retreat. All while yelling "Never disrespect me or my family!"

RESULT: No contest?
THOUGHTS: Showing Titus has an angry side. I like it.

*Commercial Break*

PROMO: Shane and Y2J are in Shanes office, and Y2J says that Shane has it out for him. He never liked him 15 years ago, and he hasn't liked him since he took over Raw. He deserves a shot at Dean's title. Shane says that he lost to Dean in the Asylum match, and lost the Money in The Bank match. This is the same man that put 69 tacs in his body, and he is allowing him to be champion and that's a move only a stupid idiot makes. Shane says that if he calls him an idiot one more time, then those 69 tacs will seem like a walk in the park. Y2J says that he hopes whichever show he gets drafted to, it won't be run by Shane because he would rather work for 10 Stephanie McMahon's than one Shane. Shane told him that won't happen, because he will be running both shows.

*Commercial Break*

MATCH: Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns

Whoever wins this match will be the man who faces Dean Ambrose in his first title defense at Battleground for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Dean is on the commentary for this one as well.

Neither man could get back into the ring at the count of 10, but Shane comes out to say that's not how things will end tonight because we need a #1 contender. Dean then gets in the ring and ASKS for a triple threat match. Shane grants that request and we FINALLY get the triple threat Shield match!

Dean then hits Reigns with a Dirty Deeds before leaving the ring, and then comes back to give Seth one for good measure.

RESULT: The match ends with a double count out.
THOUGHTS: This match was fantastic. All the way around. From the build to it, the match itself, and then what happened after the match. It was a matter of time before we saw this triple threat match and its bound to be great.
