Here are the results from the Round 5 finals and with a score of 84 (52.8%) to 75 (47.2%), PAIGE has defeated Alexa Bliss to become this year's winner!
Check out the bracket below to see how the tournament went down in its entirety and just how Paige carved out a path to victory. Was it a matter of true fan support, or did the seeding position Paige in a way to secure a win?
CLOSEST CALL
At one point in this tournament, there was a deadlocked vote. Emma and Eva Marie tied each other in Round 2 with 86 votes a piece, so it came down to a tiebreaker which allowed Eva Marie to move on.
Secondary to that was Sara Lee vs. Rosa Mendes in Round 1, which saw Sara Lee only narrowly move on by getting 2 more votes than Rosa (90 to 88).
BIGGEST LANDSLIDE VICTORY
Easily, the largest gap during any match (men or women) was in Round 1 when Paige defeated Dasha Fuentes with 96.7% of the vote in a surprising tally of 175 to 6. Ouch, especially when you look back at last year's biggest landslide victory, which was Alexa Bliss defeating Tamina Snuka with 94.2% of the votes. That means Paige had more support against Dasha Fuentes than our 2016 runner up had last year against someone who didn't even qualify this year! Why the Dasha hate?
VOTING TURNOUT
Last year, the most amount of votes in a round was Round 4 with 126 people with 101 votes being the most per-match.
This year, things amped up even more, and the most heavily voted on round was actually Round 3 with 197 votes. Everything in that round except for one match (Alexa vs Renee Young) received 196 votes, making those the most voted on individual matches.
BIGGEST SHOCKERS
For my money, I think Asuka being eliminated in the qualifying round was a surprise. I would have pegged Lilian Garcia to be that list instead, judging by the reaction going into the voting process.
Also, I was taken aback by the support Emma received, passing by Stephanie McMahon and tying Eva Marie. If the poll would have been up another day, there's a good chance she would have defeated Eva Marie and moved into the quarterfinals, where I still think she would have been taken out by Lana, but you never know.
Speaking of Lana, I was against her last year, but supported her a lot more this time around, and I was shocked to see Paige beat her, as well as for Alexa Bliss to upset last year's champion (even though I was a pro-Alexa person both this year and last year). Very surprising to see Paige as our champion in my mind.

Big thanks to everyone who participated in the voting from the qualifying round all the way up until the end, as well as those who shared this on Facebook, Twitter or elsewhere to draw more attention to it and get more people involved. This year was more successful than last time around, so it shows we're making improvements and that you're digging the concept, so we want to make it an even more grandiose thing next time around. If you have any suggestions of what you'd like to see happen in the 2017 tournament or ideas of how we can improve this, make sure to leave us a comment or shoot us an email to send that message our way!
