WWE Extreme Rules 2016 Results |
Nothing too interesting going on in the pre-show right now.
The Dudley Boyz come out to say that they're "above extreme" and that's why they're not on the card. Big Cass comes out to cut a promo on them in return.
Maryse and The Miz cut a funny promo with inspirational music behind it. Rusev and Lana are backstage with the Twitter questions, and holy shit does Lana look great. Tom says they'll start with the first question and Rusev says "Let's start with the third." Give that man the belt just for this line haha. He also says he's going to hide Kalisto's shirt to mess with him.
No Disqualification Match: Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler
RESULTS: Baron Corbin wins via pinfall (End of Days)
THOUGHTS: This didn't even need to be a No DQ match outside of one low blow.
Tornado Tag Team Match: The Usos vs. Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows
RESULTS: Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows via pinfall (Gallows pins...I can't tell which Uso)
THOUGHTS: Forgettable. This is a shame, as I was looking forward to this match, but I forgot everything that happened in this already.
United States Championship: Kalisto (c) vs. Rusev
RESULTS: Rusev via submission!
THOUGHTS: Very glad to see a new champion crowned. This should have been Ryback, but at least we have a better chance that they'll use the US Championship going forward.
Tag Team Championship: The New Day (c) vs. The Vaudevillains
RESULTS: The New Day retains via pinfall (Xavier Woods gets the pin)
THOUGHTS: So happy the title didn't change hands. Decent match, but ultimately forgettable by tomorrow morning.
Intercontinental Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: The Miz (c) vs. Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro vs. Sami Zayn
RESULTS: The Miz retains after pinning Cesaro (capitalizing on what Zayn did)
THOUGHTS: Best match of the night so far, without a doubt. Awesome!
Asylum Match: Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho
RESULTS: Dean Ambrose via pinfall (after a Dirty Deeds on the thumbtacks...ouch)
THOUGHTS: It took way too long for this to get started. At times, it was fun, but the bulk of it was boring.
Women's Championship Submission Match: Charlotte (c) vs. Natalya
RESULTS: Charlotte retains via submission (obviously)
THOUGHTS: Blah. Didn't care.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Extreme Rules Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. AJ Styles
RESULTS: Roman Reigns retains via pinfall
THOUGHTS: Fun match with a predictable ending, minus the Seth Rollins return, which was nice to see.
