Stephanie McMahon comes to the ring and talks about what Roman Reigns did at TLC. Reigns comes out, tells her to get on with it and just fire him if she's going to do that. Stephanie slaps him many, many times, and tells him that Vince McMahon is on his way to the show to address the situation.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Dean Ambrose
RESULT: Kevin Owens interrupted the match, causing a disqualification / no-contest.
THOUGHTS: Good match; interesting to have babyface vs. babyface; saw the interruption coming, but I'm okay with it.
Backstage, JoJo attempts to interview Kevin Owens about why he attacked Dean Ambrose (why not Dolph Ziggler as well?) He says nobody needs to worry about him justifying himself. People need to worry that this is just the beginning. He won't stop until he drives Ambrose absolutely insane, puts him in an institution, and takes back his IC title.
Also backstage, The Dudley Boyz, Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno are chatting about how their roots in Philly (crowd pop) have proven to them that they can settle it tonight.
R-Truth vs. Bo Dallas
Nearly a minute into the match, they cut to the back to show Vince McMahon arriving. I guess Truth and Dallas don't matter. They both stop wrestling to look at the screen, too, before getting back to fighting. That was weird. Vince eventually just comes out while the match is still going on to grab a mic, stop the match, and tell them to get the hell out of his ring.
RESULT: No-contest (again?)
THOUGHTS: Well...cool to see Vince.
Let's see what Mr. McMahon has to say. He compares himself to God, grabs a chair and says he wants Roman Reigns to sweat a little more while we go to a commercial break.
When we come back from the break, Vince invites Roman out. He tells him to get down on his knees to apologize. Reigns refuses, even though Vince threatens to beat the apology out of him. As Vince takes off his coat, Sheamus comes out to say he wants to have the pleasure to do that. He'll even put the title on the line. Vince goads the crowd by asking if they want a title match, then "you people fall for that every freaking time." (LOL) Reigns takes the mic from Vince, saying his grapefruits have shriveled up into prunes and time is passing him by. He grants Reigns the title match, but says if he doesn't win the belt, he's fired. Vince then kicks Reigns in the crotch and leaves the ring.
Rusev & Alberto Del Rio vs. Ryback & Jack Swagger
RESULT: Rusev and Alberto Del Rio via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Why did they come out to the League of Nations theme, but Rusev's theme played when they won?
Another edition of The Rosebush is on. Ugh.
Tyler Breeze vs. Neville
The Miz comes out before the match starts. He sits down ringside in a director's chair with a megaphone.
RESULT: Neville via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Always fun to watch these two. I don't know what the end game is for Miz/Neville, but at least they didn't just drop that like they did Breeze/Ziggler.
The Miz talks to Neville about how he should be listening to him and such, and how Miz wants to audition for the new James Bond and wants Neville to teach him his British accent.
The Wyatt Family cut a promo about their upcoming match later on.
Extreme Rules Match: The Wyatt Family vs. The Dudley Boyz, Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno
It's a shame this isn't a Street Fight or a No DQ match or a No Holds Barred match or a Philly Phight or something.
RESULT: The Wyatt Family via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Super fun match. Interesting to see the future legend Erick Rowan get the pin to make up for his random elimination last night.
The New Day comes out to talk about what happened at TLC. They invite The Usos and The Lucha Dragons to the ring so they can commend them and set aside their differences. The babyface teams aren't so sure to trust them. They shake hands and leave. The New Day then starts to celebrate and The Usos and The Lucha Dragons come back into the ring to attack them. Double turn?
Brie Bella & Alicia Fox vs. Charlotte & Becky Lynch
RESULT: Becky Lynch and Charlotte via submission (Becky makes Alicia submit with the Disarmer after some help from Ric Flair unbeknownst to Becky)
THOUGHTS: This was alright. I have no real complaints even if I have nothing really positive to talk about other than how hot Brie was looking in her new ring gear. Big thumbs up for that.
The Prime Time Players do a commercial for WWE Shop. This is awkward and bad.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Sheamus (c) vs. Roman Reigns
RESULT: Roman Reigns is your new WWE World Heavyweight champion!
THOUGHTS: Good match with a nice ending to it. How was this whole show better than TLC?
