HART ATTACKED
Last week, Kevin Owens continued to prove why he is the A+ heel of the WWE, not to mention one of the most entertaining.
During Monday Night Raw, actress Melissa Joan Hart engaged in a Twitter tiff with the Intercontinental Champion after declaring:
"Kevin Owens is a lazy wrestler. Yeah, I said it #WWETitle #MelissaExplainsRAW @WWE #RAW
To which Owens later replied:
"Sorry, I watched one of your shows a few months ago and it put me in a slumber that has been hard to recover from."
Hart fired back with:
"I made one comment, hoping he would start showing more... & he got butt-hurt. Didn't know I was so threatening#
To which, in true Kevin Owen's fashion, he simply responded:
"I just blocked Sabrina the Teenage Witch"
Somehow, Owens owns every situation he is placed in, be it in the ring, backstage humiliating interviewers, or responding online to his critics. Owens keeps character in and out of the ring, and is all the better worker for it.
Kevin Owens is the absolute exception to the belief that there can be no true heels in the PG Era.
CHEAP HEAT OF THE WEEK:
BYE BYE BILLY
Last week we learned WWE fired Billy Gunn (Monty Kip Sopp) from his role as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center, after he tested positive for PED at a powerlifting competition.
Gunn's levels were nine times what is considered normal, and thus, he was suspended from powerlifting for four years and let go once WWE found out.
From the company perspective, I can sort of understand the position that they were placed in. A trainer using enhancement drugs does not set the greatest example for the NXT trainees, no matter how talented they may have been.
However, on a personal note, this sucks. Gunn was a firm favorite of mine in the Attitude Era, and I am huge Degeneration X and New Age Outlaws fan. So, for that reason, I am sad. Why is it the likes of Hornswoggle get away with a 30-day suspension for recreational drugs? Or Randy Orton for that matter, who is known to have breached the wellness policy at least three times?
Bye Billy. We did love to love you.
So there you have it, my two choices for the week. What do YOU think are the Cheap Pop and Cheap Heat this week in professional wrestling? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
