My reaction: I'm not a fan of this idea. Honestly, the tag team division in NXT has been confusing to me for quite some time. The Ascension did a great job and I thought Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady were the best bets for the next champions, but WWE went with The Lucha Dragons instead. I was okay with that, but found Blake and Murphy to be an odd choice. When they were about to drop the belts, I figured Enzo and Cass would come around, but was disappointed yet again to an extent. I do like The Vaudevillains, though, so I was happy to see them win it despite that. Now, I don't have that silver lining when it comes to this title change. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder just aren't that entertaining to me and I'm blind to what WWE sees in them, similar to how I don't think Blake and Murphy have shown me much. I would have much rather seen Chad Gable and Jason Jordan be the next champs if it wasn't going to go to Enzo and Cass—who seem to be written off TV for now after spending weeks being pushed aside. Mostly everything is great in NXT, but I've not been thrilled about some of the choices made for the tag titles there in quite some time, and this is probably my least favorite thing that's happened in regards to that so far. Hopefully, they're a very, very quick transitional reign and it goes to Gable and Jordan by December.
