That's right, after defeating Randy Orton in the finals by a mere single vote, the winner of this first ever tournament on the male side of things is DOLPH ZIGGLER!
CLOSEST CALL
The final tally went 34 for Ziggler to 33 for Orton, which you can see in the results form here. This was one of only three matches that went down in all rounds of both the men's and women's brackets that were separated by just one vote. The other one for the men's bracket was in Round 3 which saw Roman Reigns defeat Dean Ambrose 34-33 (50.7% to 49.3%). Next in line for closest call was in Round 4 when Randy Orton narrowly defeated Roman Reigns by two votes, 37-35.
BIGGEST LANDSLIDE VICTORY
Out of all of the matches from every round, the biggest blowout took place in Round 1. Randy Orton, who obviously made it to the end with a lot of vigor, defeated Curtis Axel with an astounding 94.7%, scoring 54 over Axel's measly 3 votes. This is actually also the biggest landslide when factoring in the women as well.
VOTING TURNOUT
The round with the most amount of votes was Round 4 with 74 responses. Honestly, considering how the majority of the viewers on this site are male, I was impressed with the number, especially how it kept increasing each round up until the finals, which saw a bit of a drop with 67 votes. I expected to see a bit of a backlash for the concept in general, too, and was pleased to not come across a single negative, hateful comment about us doing the men's bracket alongside the women's. Kudos to you guys for proving that this is all in good fun and not to be misogynist jerks, haha!
If anyone was wondering, the specific match that had the least amount of votes on it was Round 1's Damien Sandow vs. Stardust, which only received 55 votes. That is, of course, unless you count the qualifying Round 0, which only had 14 votes, but wasn't advertised outside of the Mega Maniacs Facebook group.
BIGGEST SHOCKERS
I didn't know what to expect with this tournament, so I was kind of surprised left and right at the support or lackthereof for certain people. I hadn't expected Randy Orton to destroy The Rock by such a large margin, nor Dolph Ziggler to so easily beat John Cena, as I expected those two matches to be closer. I also thought Xavier Woods would have an easier time against Brock Lesnar in Round 1 and that Finn Balor could have beaten Dean Ambrose. At the beginning of this, I didn't expect Orton and Ziggler to be the final two, as I thought it would be John Cena and Roman Reigns, but the unexpected turns made this more entertaining for me, so that was fun.
All in all, I think this was a big success. It may not be earning millions of views on YouTube and racking up the traffic on the website, but in the interest of trying something different, giving people a chance to voice their opinions about the opposite side of things from just the attractiveness of the women, and helping diversify the content we give you here at Smark Out Moment, I'd give this first go-around for the men's bracket of the Sexiest Superstar Tournament a thumbs up!
