Here are my predictions for the 2015 WWE TLC PPV. Check back for TLC 2015 results and review coverage here.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Sheamus (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Sheamus is either retaining the title here due to interference that allows him to cheat, and then dropping it at the Royal Rumble to Roman Reigns, or Sheamus is retaining the title all the way until WrestleMania. I don't have much faith at all that Reigns is winning the belt at TLC. It's too easy for him to lose the match and look strong since he doesn't have to get pinned. This is annoying to me, because I've supported Reigns as champion even going into the Royal Rumble when everyone hated him, and likewise, I find Sheamus to be an absolute bore and don't want him as the primary focal point on the program for months on end. Sadly, I don't have any faith that I'll get what I want here, so it's more of a matter of who interferes to help Sheamus (is it Rusev and Barrett or is it Triple H?) than it is whether or not he retains.
PREDICTION: Sheamus retains the championship.
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dean Ambrose
Boy, Dean Ambrose has no shot at winning this title, does he? It seemed like it was a guarantee to happen at Survivor Series, and although it did happen there, it wasn't for the title, so it makes sense for them to pick this back up and put the belt on the line. Fair is fair, and since Owens lost before, he'll win here.
PREDICTION: Kevin Owens retains, as Ambrose beat him at Survivor Series
WWE Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match: The New Day (c) vs. The Usos vs. The Lucha Dragons
After the New Day First Anniversary Country Music Jamboree and Tag Team Championship Open Challenge was cancelled instead of becoming a triple threat match, it seemed like this was the route that WWE will go for TLC. I kind of expected it to be a ladder match, as this will already be operating without disqualifications and making it a ladder match keeps things a bit more organized, and I'm glad that they eventually decided to announce it as such.
PREDICTION: Anybody can actually win, but I'll be rooting for The New Day
WWE Divas Championship Match: Charlotte (c) vs. Paige
I'd have a lot of opinions about this match if I cared about the feud in the slightest bit. I'm just waiting for Sasha Banks to get the belt so I can have a reason to pay attention. Paige won't be winning. Charlotte will be retaining. WWE will hope I cheer, but I'll more than likely be spending that time writing up my review about another part of the event.
PREDICTION: Charlotte retains.
WWE United States Championship Chairs Match: Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Jack Swagger
A few weeks ago, WWE did the right thing by having Jack Swagger involve himself in the MexAmerica feud. Then, WWE did the wrong thing by dropping it entirely and not even having Swagger compete at Survivor Series. Now, they're picking this back up, which is the right thing to do, but I find it funny that they've been forced to abandon the MexAmerica idea because of how blah that's been. Lack of foresight. Anyway, Swagger is a good opponent for Del Rio. Patriotism right now with the ISIS attacks on France and elsewhere is at a high compared to what it was earlier this year, and Swagger is a good opponent to feed to Del Rio as he has room to move up to bigger people later. The downside to this is that chairs matches are kind of....well, not-so-great. Here's hoping these two can figure out something different to do with the gimmick instead of falling victim to the same problems the others have had in the past.
PREDICTION: Alberto Del Rio retains.
8-Man Elimination Tables Match: The Wyatt Family vs. The Dudley Boyz, Rhyno and Tommy Dreamer
There can't be a pay-per-view that advertises tables matches and doesn't include The Dudley Boyz, so it seems like this is a guarantee. I'm a big fan of them introducing Rhyno and Tommy Dreamer into the mix to make this a legitimate 4-on-4 instead of copping out like Survivor Series. I'm also glad that WWE went balls to the wall by making this an elimination-style stipulation where all four men of each team need to be put through tables. That means we could theoretically get seven tables spots in this match, which sounds awesome. Part of me still kind of wants to see Spike Dudley pop up in this No-DQ environment to give the edge to the ECW Originals, but I'd also be okay with The Wyatt Family winning.
PREDICTION: The Dudley Boyz lose. Yup, I think despite this being their match, Strowman causes them to lose.
Ryback vs. Rusev
WWE clearly doesn't care about this match as they waited until after SmackDown aired to put it up on the website. Therefore, I don't care about it, either. It's a shame that King Barrett is left out in the cold, isn't it?
PREDICTION: Rusev wins.
PREDICTED MATCHES (as of 12/10/2015)
Dolph Ziggler vs. Tyler Breeze
Pre-Show?
PREDICTION: Dolph Ziggler wins.
Notable Stars Currently Unaccounted For: Big Show, Kane, King Barrett, The Miz, Neville, Titus O'Neil, Stardust, Goldust
