Our panel for this pre-show consists of the usual folk: Renee Young, Booker T, Byron Saxton and Corey Graves. It's announced that the first match of the night (after the kickoff, of course) will be the United States Championship defense.

[Pre-Show Kickoff Six-Man Tag Team Match] Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro, & Neville vs. Rusev, King Barrett & Sheamus

RESULTS: Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro, and Neville via pinfall (Red Arrow on Barrett)
THOUGHTS: Fun match that would have been even more fun if it had some kind of importance to it and I hadn't already seen it on Monday Night Raw earlier this week. These guys are talented and deserve better overall, but at least they got a chance to start the crowd off hot by showing off just how good they are (especially Cesaro, who was a ball of fire at one point).

Tom Phillips is backstage at the social media lounge with The Dudley Boyz, who speak on how Xavier Woods won't be at Hell in a Cell tonight, how they will be winning the belts, etc.

John Cena comes out to cut a promo and introduce his US Open Challenge. Zeb Colter comes out to introduce the opponent. This better not be Alberto Del Rio.

FUCK. It is.

[United States Championship Open Challenge Match] John Cena (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio

RESULTS: Alberto Del Rio wins the title via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: If you've followed this website in the past, you know my thoughts on Sheamus are only surpassed by Alberto Del Rio.

Backstage, Seth Rollins talks to Stephanie McMahon and Triple H about Kane, who shows up. They bicker about the same stuff we've heard about for months.

[Hell in a Cell Match] Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns

RESULTS: Roman Reigns via pinfall
THOUGHTS: This doesn't come close to matching Hell in a Cell matches of yesteryear, but I don't expect that anymore. For these two guys, this was good.

[WWE Tag Team Championship Match] The New Day (c) vs. The Dudley Boyz

RESULTS: The New Day via pinfall
THOUGHTS: I love The New Day, so I'm happy to see them retain. This was also a surprise, which was another added bonus. Granted, I wouldn't have been upset to see The Dudley Boyz win the belts, but I can't lie and say I didn't smile when I saw them get the pin.

[WWE Divas Championship] Charlotte (c) vs. Nikki Bella

RESULTS: Charlotte via submission.
THOUGHTS: Pretty entertaining. I'm more impressed by Nikki Bella than Charlotte for this match, and I think it doesn't come anywhere close to the two matches Bayley and Sasha Banks had, but this was much better than I had expected. That one move on the turnbuckle, though....what the hell happened there?

After the match, Becky Lynch and Paige come out to celebrate with Charlotte. Paige schmoozes it up quite a bit.

Backstage, Roman Reigns is approached by Dean Ambrose, who congratulates him for winning his match earlier. They momentarily tease what's coming next, which they'll talk about tomorrow.

[WWE World Heavyweight Championship] Seth Rollins (c) vs. Kane

RESULTS: Seth Rollins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: I honestly didn't care about this match whatsoever and they did nothing to convince me otherwise. That table spot...am I right?

[WWE Intercontinental Championship] Kevin Owens (c) vs. Ryback

RESULTS: Kevin Owens via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Glad to see Owens retain, even though I do like Ryback. This was given the worst place on the card for the night, but it was still a step up from the previous match. Kudos, guys.

[Hell in a Cell Match] Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker

RESULTS: Brock Lesnar via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Well, I was really hoping The Undertaker would win this, but at least Lesnar won in a way that Undertaker didn't look weak. That's what bothered me the most about their previous two encounters. I enjoyed this a lot more, since it was an even match. I'm also glad no bullshit got involved like interference from an outside source or something.

After the match, the four members of The Wyatt Family come down to the ring and beat down Taker. I'm smelling an eight-man tag match at WrestleMania. Maybe Kane and Sting are two of the three people who team with The Phenom?

HIGH SPOTS

+ New Day retains
+ Renee Young's pre-show outfit
+ Undertaker looks strong even in defeat

LOW BLOWS

- Alberto Del Rio is back
- WWE World Heavyweight Championship match
- What was that turnbuckle move during the Divas Championship match??

CRITIQUE RATING SCALE: 2-COUNT NEAR-FALL (okay)

Reasoning: There were some hiccups, but I enjoyed a lot more of this event than I expected to. I'll be explaining that in more detail during the Smack Talk post-show podcast, so stay tuned for that coming up in just a few minutes on Mega Powers Radio!
