Here are my predictions for the 2014 WWE Survivor Series PPV. Check back for Survivor Series 2014 results and review coverage here.
[Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match]: Team Authority (Seth Rollins, Kane, Mark Henry, Rusev and Luke Harper) vs. Team Cena (John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Ryback, and Erick Rowan)
Wow, it took WWE forever to commit to a team on this, didn't it? What a haphazard end to a means. I'm really curious as to why Sheamus was taken out of the match and replaced with Erick Rowan. Poor Jack Swagger for being taken out of commission as well. Hell, poor Cesaro for being teased and not joining a team. I wouldn't have minded Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble being on Team Authority. This also could have been a good opportunity to bring someone up from NXT like Sami Zayn and give him some proper spotlight and possibly start a feud with Cesaro if he were on Team Authority.
I'm really hoping that WWE avoids doing what I think they're going to do: have everyone on Cena's team lose and he has to fight the entire Authority (or something similar to that) himself. My ideal situation would be Team Cena winning with Ziggler and Ryback surviving, which leads to Cena cashing in his title shot against Brock Lesnar at TLC instead of the Royal Rumble. By the way, TLC would also feature Orton versus Rollins, and once Cena would come up short for the title match, Orton would get a shot against Lesnar at the Royal Rumble (and also come up short). I'm curious about how Rusev will be eliminated, because having the stipulation that Team Cena will be fired means that they can't possibly lose. There's no way with such a thin roster as WWE has right now they'd be willing to take these five guys (well, 4...who gives a shit about Erick Rowan) and put them off TV for even a week. My guess is Rusev gets counted out or disqualified accidentally while brawling with Ryback or Big Show.
PREDICTION: Team Cena wins.
Bray Wyatt vs. Dean Ambrose
You saw the end of Hell in a Cell. You know why this match is happening. It's also happening outside of the Elimination Match, which is a good idea. Bray Wyatt joining the team for The Authority wouldn't be a crazy stretch, but this feud didn't need to be swallowed up inside a bigger match when there are plenty of other people that can be tossed into the mix to fill that void. Who wins this is tricky, as Ambrose can't keep losing everything, but if Wyatt loses again, it will definitely do more harm than good to the feud. Look at what happened with previous Wyatt feuds in the past.
PREDICTION: Bray Wyatt wins through some sort of cheating.
[Divas Championship Match]: AJ Lee (c) vs. Nikki Bella
I wholeheartedly expect Nikki Bella to become the Divas champion very soon, so it either happens here or at TLC, but it would make more sense for it to happen at Survivor Series where Brie is still under Nikki's command. That way, she can force Brie to be her accomplice in cheating. Afterward, Brie and Nikki can face each other for the title.
PREDICTION: Nikki Bella wins the championship.
WWE Tag Team Championship [Fatal 4-Way Match]: Goldust & Stardust (c) vs. The Usos vs. The Miz & Damien Mizdow vs. Los Matadores
In a different era, this would have just been a 4 on 4 Survivor Series elimination match. However, that doesn't mean that would have been better. In fact, this could end up being a really good match. I'd love to see The Miz and Damien Mizdow win the titles here and if anyone ends up taking the titles off Goldust and Stardust, it will definitely be them. There's no way The Usos will win it back and there's no way Los Matadores will win the titles PERIOD. With the New Day stable coming soon, they will be good foils for either heel tag team. The Miz and Mizdow have more going behind them than the Rhodes brothers, but is that enough for WWE to switch the belts?
PREDICTION: The Dusts win.
[Divas Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match]: Team Babyface (Alicia Fox, Natalya, Naomi & Emma) vs. Team Heel (Paige, Cameron, Summer Rae & Layla)
This keeps up the trend of having two Divas matches on each card as of late. This could go either way as far as winners and losers. It's just as likely that WWE will want to keep someone like Alicia Fox looking strong so she can challenge Nikki Bella, but I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest bit if Paige is the focal point and sole survivor of her team. Then again, if WWE wants to go with a sole survivor concept for the Authority/Cena match, then I would bet my house that there's no sole survivor in this match.
PREDICTION: Team Alicia Fox wins.
PREDICTED MATCHES
Let's take a look at some of the potential matches that seem as though WWE will be adding...
Something with The Bunny and Adam Rose
WWE has time to kill on this event and they're running a storyline with Adam Rose turning on The Bunny right now. It makes sense for a bathroom break segment to be devoted to another match where Adam Rose loses because of The Bunny. Maybe he loses to Cesaro? Jack Swagger? Do they just continue the Tyson Kidd and Natalya combination?
PREDICTION: Adam Rose loses if he's in a match unless he faces The Bunny.
Debut of "A New Day" Stable?
WWE is teasing the new stable of Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E to be coming soon. Maybe they will have a match or a segment at Survivor Series?
PREDICTION: I doubt it. Probably at Raw the next night instead.
Will Erick Rowan make an appearance to go after Renee Young? Will there be a random match with someone like Jack Swagger?
