Future Endeavors: Josh Mathews Released from WWE

PNG WWE Logo transparent background WWE Network iconAfter releasing 11 members of the talent pool recently, it appears as though WWE is not finished handing out pink slips. Broadcast member Josh Mathews has been released today, which is a bit of a surprise considering how long he's been a part of the company.

Mathews originally was a part of the Tough Enough cast and despite not winning the show, has remained a member of the company virtually ever since.

He's been a backstage interviewer, commentator, and most recently had etched out a position as the head moderator for the pay-per-view panels.

Personally, I'm disappointed about this release quite a bit. Both he and Matt Striker I felt were valuable assets and I was really hoping that Mathews would eventually take Michael Cole's spot as the play-by-play man in WWE.

Here's hoping that Mathews can either move on to something better or find his way back to the company. I'm rooting for you, man!
