There have been two tournaments here at Smark Out Moment. The first of which determined the Hottest Woman in Wrestling History, spanning WWE and TNA's rosters. Later on, there was a tournament to determine the Best WWE Champion of All Time. Similar to that tournament, this will pit former champions against each other.
I urge you to vote for quality over quantity. For instance, if someone held a title one time for a year in comparison to 5 times where they only lasted a week, which one is worth more? Also, try to take into account what they meant to each of the championships.
NOTE: Since there was an uneven amount of people to properly structure a bracket, I've opted for the method you see below. The four people on the inside of the bracket that get the bye-votes were the first four to gain Grand Slam Champion status. I then balanced the tournament out a little and then randomized it to come up with the following bracket:
Without further ado, let's get this tournament started with the four matches outside of the primary bracket!
Rob Van Dam vs Big Show
[THOUGHTS: It may seem like it's just a biased vote since I don't like RVD, but I'm going with Big Show. Rob Van Dam's WWE Championship is the only one that counts for the world title slot and it was essentially pointless. Sure, he's held numerous Hardcore, European, Tag Team and Intercontinental titles, but that's nothing that Big Show hasn't done. Meanwhile, Big Show has also held the World Heavyweight Championship twice on top of his two WWE title wins.]
Kurt Angle vs John Bradshaw Layfield
[THOUGHTS: Kurt Angle is one of the most decorated champions in WWE history. JBL had an impressive run with the WWE title, but Angle held the title more times and overall, was a more reliable hand for the main event. Also, the rest of JBL's title victories don't stand out as particularly amazing in comparison to Angle's.]
Christian vs Jeff Hardy
[THOUGHTS: Both men are almost equals, so it's difficult to judge. They're about even for every level. In the end, I went with Jeff Hardy because I think without Edge's retirement, there's a good chance Christian never would have won the world title.]
Eddie Guerrero vs Booker T
[THOUGHTS: This was extremely tough as well. However, I went with Booker T. They both have impressive midcard and tag title reigns, but Booker has the edge with world titles.]
DIFFERENCES IN MY BRACKET & VOTES
As you can see below, my votes that I've mentioned have been recorded and I'll be continuing with that line of matches. If you guys vote differently, any matches that I have that don't match up with your bracket will be found in this section.
This tournament is going to be rushed more than the previous ones. Instead of votes being held once per week, the entire tournament will be over with by September 27th, so make sure you get your votes in as soon as possible and keep checking back!
Here is the schedule:
Round 1 ends Wednesday Sept 18th @ 10am EST
Round 2 ends Friday 20th @ 10am EST
Round 3 ends Monday 23rd @ 10am EST
Round 4 ends Friday 27th @ 10am EST
Winner is announced Saturday the 28th
