The second episode of Tough Enough is in the can and the elimination was a shocker, at least to me, with MATT CAPICCIONI being excused from the competition.
I fully expected Michelle or Eric to be knocked off this week, but once they showed that those two were improving while Ryan (aka "Skidmark") was getting under their skin, I figured it was simple: Rima would be placed in the bottom three as punishment for showing up late, Matt might be put in there to scare him into showing his true colors, and Ryan would be sent home. It was so simple and obvious, yet it didn't happen. Matt gets eliminated because he's had lots of experience but didn't have character and didn't show them all the moves he knew. Now, I've got a bone to pick, and it's similar to what I said in the previous entry...
How much do you want to bet that if Matt had gone out there and started doing fancy flips, they'd criticize him for saying that he's showboating and being cocky and that it doesn't matter if he does high-flying stuff? The high-flyers don't seem to get a ton of respect and are frequently called stuntmen in comparison to wrestlers. There's a hypocrisy when it comes to situations like this because you're told to stand up for yourself but you can't talk back, you have to cut everyone else down when comparing them to yourself but if you do, then you're making excuses, and it's a lose/lose situation if they're out to get you. I've got a feeling that Matt was eliminated more so because they just had a thing against him instead of logically thinking about it. If Ryan is having trouble being away from his girlfriend after this short amount of time, how is he going to be on the road 300 days a year? Throw on top of that that his answers about dedication and such were floundering and that he isn't as technically skilled, PLUS if they want to criticize Matt for having a lack of character, Ryan showed even less.
It makes no sense to me, but then again, most reality shows are filled with such fallacies, so I can't say I'm too surprised.
My predictions for the next bottom three, totally blind considering how things can change at the drop of a hat: Ryan, Eric, and AJ. Why AJ? Totally random guess with no reason behind it. I expect Ryan to go next week.
