WWE Fatal 4-Way 2010 Predictions

Posted by Anthony Mango Friday, May 28, 2010

Brand new ppv, not a brand new concept. Generally speaking, I like four-way matches. They don't seem to suffer the same problems as triple threats where it's still just one-on-one with the other guy on the outside stalling, as now they can split up into pairs of two. Still...I'm not a huge supporter of using these gimmicks as pay-per-views. I'd rather them keep the option of pulling these out when they can't think of anything else as opposed to keeping them firm in place at the same time year to year. Plus, if you're going to do a multi-man match, why not just bring back the Scramble? That was fun. Anyway, what do we have in store for us as of right now?

WWE Championship [Fatal 4-Way]: John Cena (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. Edge vs. Sheamus
We all saw it coming, but with Orton's injury, that was really the only "what if", and it still remains to be seen if he'll actually participate. They may find out a few days from now that it's not a good idea to have him wrestle and instead, pull him from the card and replace him. I've been assuming for several weeks now that this would be the lineup and HHH would make his return, attacking Sheamus and causing Cena to be able to pin him in the process. I'm sticking by that until something changes. Some rumblings say Orton may not get cleared to wrestle and could be replaced. Some rumblings are also saying that Sheamus may win the title and go into SummerSlam the champ. I just cannot see that happening, and I seriously hope it doesn't.

PREDICTION: John Cena retains.

World Heavyweight Championship [Fatal 4-Way]: Jack Swagger (c) vs. Big Show vs. CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio
Well originally, Taker was in here instead of Mysterio, and I expressed my displeasure, saying that I felt Taker/Swagger would have been better left a singles match and that Taker needed to rest longer. It seems as though I've gotten my wish. Now, I revert back to my previous stance on this match, wherein I believe Swagger pins Mysterio.

PREDICTION: Jack Swagger retains.

United States Championship: The Miz (c) vs. R-Truth
It's no secret that I'm not a fan of R-Truth. That being said, I wasn't too annoyed when he won the US title. But I'm still happy to have the Miz holding a title and if it means Truth has to relinquish his in order for that to happen, so be it. The Miz should be in the WWE title match instead of Sheamus, in my opinion. But that's a topic for another night. This match should be ok, but nothing special.

PREDICTION: The Miz retains.

Divas Championship [Fatal 4-Way]: Eve Torres (c) vs. Gail Kim vs. Maryse vs. Alicia Fox
I want Alicia to win the title, but with Lay-Cool as the champ(s) on Smackdown, I don't think they'll have Eve drop it just yet. They tend to parallel each other on the shows. Cena and Swagger are face and heel, Eve and Layla are face and heel, and the Kofi and the Miz are face and heel. The match itself? C'mon, I don't need to explain how rudimentary it will be.

PREDICTION: Eve Torres retains.

Intercontinental Championship: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
Not particularly interested. McIntyre bores me. Hopefully Kofi retains and they keep this short.

PREDICTION: Kofi Kingston retains via Hardy interference.

Keep checking back as I'll be updating these predictions whenever any new information comes my way.
