WWE WrestleMania XXXIV Results |
The kickoff panel consists of Renee Young, Booker T, JBL and David Otunga. John Cena is sitting in the crowd.
5th Annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
RESULT: Matt Hardy wins by last eliminating Baron Corbin with help from Bray Wyatt
THOUGHTS: Didn't see that one coming beforehand, but once the match started happening, it started to head in that direction. Disappointed Wyatt isn't a different character, but this was still pretty neat.
Cruiserweight Championship Match: Cedric Alexander vs. Mustafa Ali
RESULT: Cedric Alexander wins the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Awesome match, as expected.
Inaugural Women's Battle Royal
RESULT: Naomi wins by last eliminating Bayley.
THOUGHTS: Meh.
Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Match: The Miz (c) vs. Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins
RESULT: Seth Rollins wins the title by pinning The Miz.
THOUGHTS: Definitely was still expecting Balor to win the title. Good match, but not as great as I had hoped it would be.
SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Asuka
RESULT: Charlotte Flair retains the title by submission!
THOUGHTS: WOOOOOOOOOOOW!!! I didn't see that coming at all! Holy shit.
After the match, Asuka gets a microphone and says "Charlotte was ready for Asuka. Congratulations."
A referee runs to John Cena to tell him The Undertaker is there. Cena runs to the back.
United States Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: Randy Orton (c) vs. Bobby Roode vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Rusev
RESULT: Jinder Mahal wins the title by pinning Rusev.
THOUGHTS: Well damn, I didn't see that coming.
Mixed Tag Team Match: Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey vs. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon
RESULT: Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle win by submission.
THOUGHTS: This was SO much better than I had anticipated. Wow.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match: The Usos (c) vs. The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers
RESULT: The Bludgeon Brothers win the titles by pinning Kofi Kingston.
THOUGHTS: Nowhere near as good as I was hoping it would be.
John Cena comes out, but the referees enter the ring despite the bell ringing. It doesn't seem like The Undertaker is coming out. Elias comes out instead (hahahaha). Cena goes back to sitting in the audience, but attacks Elias after he starts talking trash. He starts to walk away and the lights go out. Undertaker's hat and gear show up in the ring, get struck by lightning and then disappear. His music hits and out The Phenom comes.
John Cena vs. The Undertaker
RESULT: The Undertaker squashes John Cena by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Really glad this was a match, but I wanted it to be longer and actually competitive.
It's time for the Hall of Fame parade.
Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn
RESULT: Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon win by submission (Zayn taps out to Bryan)
THOUGHTS: To be honest, I wasn't super into the match, but it's great to see Bryan hasn't lost a step.
Raw Women's Championship Match: Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Nia Jax
RESULT: Nia Jax wins the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Longer than it should have been, and more competitive than what made any sense.
WWE Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
RESULT: AJ Styles retains the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: GODDAMN, why am I doing so terrible on my predictions here? By the way, this match wasn't as awesome as the hype sold it to be.
Braun Strowman says his partner is someone in the crowd and pulls out a little boy named Nicholas.
Raw Tag Team Championship Match: The Bar (c) vs. Braun Strowman and Nicholas
RESULT: Braun Strowman...and...Nicholas...win the titles by pinfall (Strowman pins Cesaro)
THOUGHTS: What the fuck did I just watch?????
Universal Championship Match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns
RESULT: Brock Lesnar retains the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Not into it, as expected. Surprise ending. Who cares?
