WWE SummerSlam 2017 Results

Our pre-show panel consists of Renee Young, David Otunga, Jerry Lawler and Lita.

Six-Man Tag Team Match: The Miztourage vs. The Hardy Boyz and Jason Jordan

RESULTS: The Miz scores the pin for his team by pinning Jason Jordan
THOUGHTS: Man this was awkward by not having anybody in the crowd and how the match doesn't matter at all. Poor booking decisions all around.

Charly Caruso has Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in the social media lounge. Ambrose is a weird guy.

Cruiserweight Championship Match: Akira Tozawa (c) vs. Neville

RESULT: Neville wins the title via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Decent match with a surprise ending. Why even bother giving the title to Tozawa?

Elias is in the ring for another musical performance. He starts over when they interrupt him. He then starts to do a second song where he asks when Brooklyn lost its balls. No interruptions from any wrestlers. Nice.

Carmella and James Ellsworth join the pre-show panel. They give their thoughts about a few of the matches and tease a potential cash-in for later.

Jinder Mahal cuts a promo about how he'll retain the title tonight.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (c) vs. The Usos

RESULT: The Usos win by pinning Big E.
THOUGHTS: Not a big fan of the title change, but the match was really, really good.

A KFC promo ends with Shawn Michaels dressed up as Colonel Sanders. Sure, why not?

Baron Corbin vs. John Cena

RESULT: John Cena wins via pinfall
THOUGHTS: Good to see Corbin's been amounting to something since winning Money in the Bank. Oh wait.

SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Naomi (c) vs. Natalya

RESULT: Natalya wins the title via submission.
THOUGHTS: Wow...I'm getting EVERYTHING wrong tonight and I can't even say that I'm happy about that, because I don't want these people to win. Not a fan.

Big Cass vs. Big Show [Enzo Amore locked and suspended in a shark cage above the ring]

RESULT: Big Cass wins via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Enzo getting out of the cage was interesting, but nothing else was.

Backstage, Kurt Angle talks to Daniel Bryan. They talk about how each of their brands will steal the show.

Randy Orton vs. Rusev

RESULT: Randy Orton squashes Rusev via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Pointless.

Backstage, Sasha Banks bumps into Bayley. Bayley gets booed.

Raw Women's Championship Match: Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Sasha Banks

RESULT: Sasha Banks wins the belt via pinfall
THOUGHTS: Jeez....WWE doesn't like me tonight.

Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt

RESULT: Finn Balor wins via pinfall
THOUGHTS: Oh man, I'm so glad Balor had that face paint on. That totally changed the makeup of this match from when he would have if he was normal without it, right?

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: Cesaro and Sheamus (c) vs. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins

RESULT: Ambrose and Rollins win the titles (Ambrose pins Sheamus)
THOUGHTS: Good match, okay with the title change, and RIP beach ball.

United States Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) vs. Kevin Owens [special guest referee Shane McMahon]

RESULT: AJ Styles retains via pinfall
THOUGHTS: Very solid match, and thankfully, another match I guessed correct.

WWE Championship Match: Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

RESULT: Jinder Mahal retains via pinfall
THOUGHTS: I'm so confused why this was prioritized and chosen as the match to go with.

Universal Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe vs. Braun Strowman

RESULT: Brock Lesnar retains the title by pinning Reigns
THOUGHTS: For months, I've been saying that I didn't want Lesnar to retain the title here. So, yeah. The match was great, but the finish pisses me off.
