SmackDown Live presents WWE Clash of Champions 2017 Results

Our kickoff panel tonight consists of Renee Young, Sam Roberts and David Otunga. Kayla Braxton will have The New Day in the social media lounge. A couple of interviews, blah blah blah, nothing too interesting.

Pre-Show Kickoff Match: Mojo Rawley vs. Zack Ryder

RESULT: Mojo Rawley via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Okay enough for a pre-show match. If they don't pick up the pace, though, this feud won't be able to sustain itself on this alone.

United States Championship Triple Threat Match: Baron Corbin (c) vs. Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler

RESULT: Dolph Ziggler wins by pinning Corbin!
THOUGHTS: Wooooooow, I did not see that one coming at all! I figured Ziggler was the least likely option. Holy shit. Great match, too.

Backstage, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan talk about their intentions for tonight. Both referees are going to be inside the ring at the same time.

Also backstage, Dasha Fuentes tries to talk to Baron Corbin, saying some people say he squanders his opportunities. Corbin flips out.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: The Usos (c) vs. The New Day vs. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin vs. Rusev and Aiden English

RESULT: The Usos retain by pinfall
THOUGHTS: I missed a good portion of this when the network refused to work for me, so I'll have to go back and check it out another time.

SmackDown Women's Championship Lumberjack Match: Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Natalya

RESULT: Charlotte Flair retains by submission.
THOUGHTS: Sloppy and bland.

After the match, Kayla Braxton interviews Natalya in the ring, asking her what went wrong. Nattie says she did nothing wrong. Charlotte used her family's name to cut corners. Nattie has carried this division for ten years and received nothing but disrespect. If the WWE Universe wants to turn their back on her and the women do too, she'll turn her back on everyone.

Dasha tries to get a word with Jinder Mahal, but The Singh Brothers say he's in deep meditation and can't be disturbed. Mahal is so confident he'll become a two-time champion tonight that he might not even need them ringside.

The Bludgeon Brothers vs. Breezango

RESULT: The Bludgeon Brothers by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Squash, as expected. Nothing much to it.

Dasha talks to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who maintain that Daniel Bryan will be a fair and impartial referee to balance out Shane McMahon's bias, and the Sami and Kevin Show is not getting cancelled any time soon.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton

RESULT: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn by pinfall (a fast count from Daniel Bryan after his frustrations seeing that Shane McMahon purposely was screwing Owens and Zayn)
THOUGHTS: It took a while to get to the point, but it basically ended the way we all could have expected.

WWE Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) vs. Jinder Mahal

RESULT: AJ Styles retains the title by submission.
THOUGHTS: Glad no title changed hands. The match was okay, but nothing too too special. I'll forget about it by the end of the night.

Stay tuned to the post-show review and recap podcast for my thoughts in more detail!
