WWE No Mercy 2016 Spoilers

WWE No Mercy 2016 John Cena vs AJ Styles vs Dean Ambrose

WWE World Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) vs. Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena

A rematch with Dean Ambrose was inevitable, but I didn't think they'd go with the triple threat route. I'm really, really questioning why everything is happening so fast and not leaving many options for the next few months, as I don't want to see the same 4 people feuding for 8 months straight. What's going to happen at WrestleMania??

PREDICTION: AJ Styles retains.

WWE No Mercy 2016 Women's Title Match Alexa Bliss vs Becky Lynch

SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Alexa Bliss

I thought they'd just go with the Natalya option, which would have been much more boring, but I've been a fan of Alexa Bliss for a while (and seriously, this Harley Quinn-inspired look is even hotter) so it's nice to see her get the title shot instead.

Update: It appears as though this match isn't going to happen, since Becky Lynch is injured. Reminds you of the Randy Orton situation last month at Backlash, doesn't it?

PREDICTION: Becky Lynch retains.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: Heath Slater & Rhyno (c) vs. The Usos

Unless I'm just not giving them the proper credit they deserve and there's plans to keep this going much longer than I would think, I have to imagine Slater and Rhyno are dropping these titles to The Usos. Hell, we were thinking they could lose them on the September 13th edition of SmackDown right after winning the belts. I can't see any other contenders being in line as the next champions instead of Jimmy and Jey (since American Alpha are babyfaces and that would conflict with Slater and Rhyno being cheered) and I think this will be the end of their title reign rather than dragging it out any longer.

PREDICTION: The Usos take the belts.

Intercontinental Championship Title vs. Career Match: The Miz (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

I was expecting a stipulation to be added where Maryse would be banned from ringside or a cage would come into play to prevent her from interfering, but instead, we have Dolph Ziggler putting up his career to offset the Intercontinental Championship being on the line. They've even specifically said that if he loses, he won't be going over to Raw, so there goes that loophole. I guess this is when Ziggler wins the title then, right? Unless maybe Ziggler plans on leaving and that's why he's worked with The Miz, because they're friends. Hm....

PREDICTION: Dolph Ziggler wins the title.

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt

I would be a lot more interested in this match if it had some kind of gimmick like a Boiler Room Brawl or whatever, but instead, WWE is hoping people care enough to just want to see the regular singles match we didn't get at Backlash. That's kind of lame.

PREDICTION: Randy Orton wins.

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella

It makes perfect sense for this match to be on the card. These two have been feuding for long enough that if they didn't have a match, it would be suspicious. While there were rumors this could be a No Disqualification match, I didn't have a lot of faith in an announcement in that regard (although rumors also circulate that Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte could be inside the Hell in a Cell cage, so maybe a No DQ women's match isn't far off). Since Carmella has continually gotten the edge over on Nikki, it's time for the babyface to teach her a lesson.

PREDICTION: Nikki Bella wins.

Curt Hawkins vs. ???

It would be pretty ridiculous if they spent weeks reminding people that Hawkins was returning and then he didn't make any kind of appearance on this card, wouldn't it? My guess is he either fights Apollo Crews or one of The Hype Bros.

PREDICTION: Curt Hawkins wins.

Baron Corbin vs. Jack Swagger

Kalisto was dragged along and nothing happened. Apollo Crews lost to Corbin in a throwaway pre-show match that hadn't even been announced until the kickoff itself. Since then, these two have been somewhat feuding, with Swagger getting a dicey win over Corbin with a bad referee call. The All American American and The Lone Wolf should definitely fight at No Mercy to keep this feud going....and lo and behold, it's been announced for the pre-show. Makes sense, and I'm interested in seeing more.

PREDICTION: If they want to do something with Swagger, he needs to beat Corbin. If this is just a new feud to keep Corbin busy and Swagger is here to help him out, then Corbin naturally wins. It all depends.
