Jerry The King Lawler Arrested and Suspended from WWE for Domestic Violence Charges | Smark Out Moment
On Friday, June 17, 2016, WWE suspended Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler indefinitely after he was arrested for domestic violence.

Their official statement on WWE.com simply reads as follows:

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Jerry Lawler was arrested at his home Friday morning by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in Memphis, Tenn.

According to a police report, Lawler and his girlfriend, Lauryn McBride, were taken into custody and booked on alleged charges of domestic assault—bodily harm, a misdemeanor.

WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Jerry Lawler has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.

My reaction: Just as I had said for Adam Rose in a similar situation, I'm on WWE's side 100% with this. They don't need the bad publicity and it's not something to mess around with. I wouldn't be shocked to hear that he gets released soon, just as Adam Rose did. (Update: The more information that comes out with this, the more I tend to believe that Lawler didn't necessarily do anything wrong. It seems like his girlfriend has a drinking problem and he was arrested just because it was the safest call to make on behalf of the police, as they wouldn't know the full scope of the situation. If that ends up being the case, then Lawler will be fine. If it comes out that he started the fight or anything like that, he'll end up suffering consequences.)

UPDATE: As of July 1st, his suspension has been lifted.
