Future Endeavors: Cody Rhodes Released from WWE

Posted by Anthony Mango Saturday, May 21, 2016
As of 5/21/2016, Cody Rhodes has requested his release from World Wrestling Entertainment. He stated on Twitter that this was his doing and that he would speak more on the matter later on.

My reaction: This sucks. I've been a fan of Cody Rhodes since he came onto the scene and was even one of those loud voices who said he was the better of the two when he was teaming with Ted DiBiase. For years, I've been wanting WWE to commit to a legitimate push for Cody as a main eventer, as I thought he had potential to be a world champion. This Stardust character took things in the wrong direction and they never course-corrected. Very sad to see him go, and I think he probably didn't want to keep accomplishing nothing, particularly after the passing of Dusty Rhodes. Hopefully, Cody comes back at some point and is utilized better.
