Here are my predictions for the 2015 WWE Hell in a Cell PPV. Check back for Hell in a Cell 2015 results and review coverage here.
[Hell in a Cell Match]: The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar
Okay, I'll admit that I didn't like the idea of the SummerSlam match, nor did I like how it ended, and I'm skeptical about how WWE will do this....but I'm so on board with these two fighting in a Hell in a Cell match that I'm going to ignore that for now. Pretty sweet, right?
PREDICTION: The Undertaker via pinfall.
[WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match]: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Kane
This seems a bit underwhelming, isn't it? In particular, I thought this would at least be the other Hell in a Cell match, but that distinction's likely gone now. Maybe with Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar, WWE feels it's okay to have a somewhat lackluster title match and will end up doing this. It's an okay placeholder feud for Rollins, but it's not something I can get excited for. With the added stipulation that if Kane loses, he will no longer be Director of Operations, that just seals the deal even more that Rollins isn't in any danger. Kane's played that role for a long while and it's time for a change in direction...of operations....
PREDICTION: Seth Rollins retains and hopefully Sheamus doesn't cash in successfully.
[Hell in a Cell Match]: Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt
I was hoping this feud would end before this, or at least take a more interesting turn, but now I'm really confused about what WWE has planned. This is the Hell in a Cell match rather than the title defense? Also, what is WWE doing with Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton and the rest of The Wyatt Family? That can't be a generic tag team match to supplement this, so maybe this isn't an official 3 on 3 match, but will turn into it.
PREDICTION: Team Shield 2.0-esque wins.
[Divas Championship]: Charlotte (c) vs. Nikki Bella
I was assuming this would be a triple threat match with Paige involved and rumors have even been floating that Sasha Banks would be added to the mix, too, so I'm surprised WWE just announced this standard singles match. However, that being said, the way WWE has been stalling and dragging out multiple different feuds for months (Ziggler/Rusev, Ryback/Miz/Big Show, Orton/Sheamus) it's not too surprising that this looks to be following suit. Ugh.
PREDICTION: Charlotte retains.
[Tag Team Championship]: The New Day (c) vs. The Dudley Boyz
To be perfectly honest, I'm not as into this as I was before, and the main reason is because of what happened at the Madison Square Garden show. That was a duplicate of Night of Champions and this match wasn't even made a Tables Match to spice it up—it's literally going to be the third regular title defense with these two teams. Maybe it was too much to ask for a gimmick to be added since we have the Hell in a Cell matches, but if the plan was never to do that, there didn't need to be a title defense at MSG, or at least it should have been booked differently. WWE is in this rut of rinsing and repeating the same exact matches for weeks and I'm getting tired of it, even if I enjoy the people involved like with these five guys.
PREDICTION: Dudley Boyz win, or WWE just does the "Xavier Woods causes an interference disqualification" ending for the third time in a row.
[Intercontinental Championship]: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Ryback
Standard rematch clause. Kevin Owens isn't in trouble, but Ryback needs to find a way to lose this and not look too weak.
PREDICTION: Kevin Owens retains.
[Pre-Show Kickoff Match] Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro & Neville vs. King Barrett, Sheamus & Rusev
So I guess WWE decided against the Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose vs. Braun Strowman & Luke Harper match, eh? This doesn't interest me, but it just annoys me that Barrett definitely isn't turning face.
PREDICTION: It doesn't matter who wins, but I guess the heels.
[United States Championship]: John Cena (c) vs. ???
Since this is an Open Challenge and the pre-show match has been changed, I'm at a loss for ideas. Originally, I figured Dolph Ziggler would be involved, but now it's starting to seem like the best possibility is Tyler Breeze, who is rumored to be coming up to the main roster soon. That's a shot in the dark, though, as it could always just be something as simple as someone wrestling twice or someone else making a debut.
PREDICTION: Tyler Breeze wins.
PREDICTED MATCHES (as of 10/19/2015)
Notable Stars Currently Unaccounted For: Astral Alliance, Big Show, Braun Strowman, Dean Ambrose, Luke Harper, The Miz, Roman Reigns
