WWE Elimination Chamber 2014 Spoilers |
WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match: Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus vs. Antonio Cesaro vs. Christian
What the hell? Antonio Cesaro and Christian? I never would have seen that coming when they had the option of putting Kane, Big Show, Mark Henry, Alberto Del Rio, and others in it. Kudos to WWE for trying something different. I'm really holding out hope that this doesn't lead to a Sheamus heel turn in any way, as I really don't want to see Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus in ANY CAPACITY at WrestleMania, or any time soon for that matter. If they're hell bent on doing Orton vs Batista, at least give me Bryan vs HHH as the last match of the night. Some rumors going around point to Christian being replaced by someone (Brock Lesnar? Big Show? Mark Henry?) but I wouldn't be too surprised if he stays in the match and is just someone that Orton can get an elimination on. Ideally, since WWE has already pigeon-holed themselves into Batista vs Orton and its unrealistic to get out of that at this point, I'd like to see Bryan be the last person that Orton is up against (with Orton eliminating Cena second to last to give him some more credibility, Bryan eliminating Sheamus before that, Orton eliminating Christian and Cena eliminating Cesaro at the start). Then, Bryan should get screwed out of it by Triple H, leading to their match at WrestleMania.
PREDICTION: Randy Orton retains.
The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family
I didn't expect WWE to do this, and even though I don't think it'll be an instant classic, I think there's a lot of potential that this could be fun. I'm curious what the outcome will be. Is Roman Reigns just going to turn babyface and spear the living hell out of everyone? The crowd is clearly as pumped to see this as the Elimination Chamber match itself, and I don't blame them. It's the second highest ranked match on the card for me as well. This will no doubt showcase the end of The Shield, leading to a match at WrestleMania. The Wyatt Family by default has to come out on top.
PREDICTION: The Wyatt Family wins.
Batista vs. Alberto Del Rio
Something needs to keep him busy and unfortunately, since WWE is big on disappointing people lately, this match had to happen. It's a shame, as it's going to suck, but it makes the most logical sense once WWE booked themselves in a corner. If you had told me that I'd be on the creative team the night after Royal Rumble, I would have booked this match as well. But on the other hand, if you had told me that I was on the creative team BEFORE the Royal Rumble...that's an entirely different story, and we certainly wouldn't be wasting our time with this nonsense.
PREDICTION: Batista wins.
Intercontinental Championship: Big E (c) vs. Jack Swagger
Big E might have dropped "Langston" from his name, but he's not going to be dropping the title here. Swagger is just someone being tossed at him so he can look stronger in beating him. No real purpose behind this match other than that and for Zeb Colter to get even more upset with Jack, I think. This could be a good match, though, so I'd like to see what these two can pull out together.
PREDICTION: Big E wins.
Tag Team Championship: New Age Outlaws (c) vs. The Usos
Gah! I don't know who is going to win here. This is a tough one. The Usos could definitely walk out with the titles and I would be happy, but the New Age Outlaws can easily retain and hold off on dropping the titles to them until WrestleMania. I really have no idea, but I think this is going to be a good match and I'm very interested to see what happens.
PREDICTION: This is really tough wins.
Pre-Show Kickoff Match: Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. Ryback & Curtis Axel
Odd match to choose for a pre-show. I would have gone with the Titus O'Neil vs Darren Young match instead. I guess Rhodes and Goldust lose and they tease a breakup and match at WrestleMania? I'm not sure why that wouldn't be on the card itself, though. Hm....
PREDICTION: Ryback and Curtis Axel win.
Titus O'Neil vs. Darren Young
As I mentioned above, this would have fit better as the Kickoff match and I'm really curious as to why they added this on the card, but we don't have any matches featuring people like Damien Sandow, Kofi Kingston, etc. Naturally, this is a bathroom break kind of match.
PREDICTION: Titus O'Neil wins. He has the most to gain and Young isn't going anywhere.
PREDICTED MATCHES
If anything, I think we might see a Divas match, but I don't know what exactly. Naomi facing off against AJ Lee would have made sense, but with her injury, that isn't going to happen.
