WWE Survivor Series 2013 Spoilers |
WWE Championship: Randy Orton (c) vs. Big Show
Even though this wouldn't be the most exciting match out there, it makes the most sense without Daniel Bryan in the WWE title picture. WWE has also shown numerous times that they consider Big Show to be a person they can slot into a main event and hope that people expect it to be a big deal, so this wouldn't surprise me one bit if they have another match at TLC as well. Randy Orton needs someone to beat to look credible and Big Show is filling that role. Big Show is going to come up short here, but he'll get another rematch at TLC. The sad part for him is that he'll come up short there as well.
PREDICTION: Randy Orton retains.
World Heavyweight Championship: John Cena (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
I'm surprised they didn't make this a triple threat match to include Damien Sandow, and I think it was a mistake. Del Rio is an absolute bore and has been in damn near every World Heavyweight Championship match for something like 3 years straight. Enough is enough. Sandow being snubbed here makes him look worse than when he lost his cash-in attempt. Del Rio is going to lose and probably get ANOTHER match at TLC against Cena.
PREDICTION: John Cena retains.
CM Punk & Daniel Bryan vs. Luke Harper & Erick Rowan
Well fuck, there goes the idea of these guys being involved in an elimination match. My guess is, they don't want to hurt The Shield too much and at the same time, they're too afraid to have Punk and Bryan suffer an elimination, so they went wayward to stop that from happening. It's a shame that this means virtually nothing and is just a stall until WrestleMania. Bryan and Punk absolutely have to win this match, by all means. The quality of the match is not something I'd really bank on as a show stealer
PREDICTION: Punk and Bryan absolutely have to win. No questions.
Traditional Elimination Match: Cody Rhodes, Goldust, the Usos & Rey Mysterio vs. The Shield & The Real Americans
WWE really went into this without a solid plan and it shows, not just by the haphazard way we've gotten to this point where people are overlapping with different feuds, but also with the inclusion of the "mystery teammate" Rey Mysterio, who I figured would be in this spot when it was still a mystery. Mysterio doesn't fit in here at all, but that's not surprising. We're a long way from the time when WWE used to really care about their elimination matches and it shows that they don't really value Survivor Series all that much. My guess for the order of eliminations is Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Jack Swagger, Goldust, Seth Rollins, Antonio Cesaro, Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, and finally Rey Mysterio with Roman Reigns coming out on top.
PREDICTION: Roman Reigns will be sole survivor.
Elimination Match: Total Divas (Natalya, Bella Twins, Funkadactyls, Jojo & Eva Marie) vs. AJ Lee, Tamina Snuka, Rosa Mendes, Summer Rae, Aksana, Kaitlyn, & Alicia Fox
So, WWE can't do a 6-on-6 match for the men that they looked to be building up, but they can do a 7-on-7 for the divas? Also, Alicia Fox has been on Total Divas. This could end up being a HUGE train wreck, with people like Eva Marie and Jojo and Rosa in it. It should be pretty fast with people eliminating each other almost immediately to knock it down to the people that can actually do something. My guess in terms of the order of eliminations is that Rosa will be the first to go, followed by Cameron, Aksana, Jojo, Alicia Fox, Kaitlyn, Summer Rae, Eva Marie, Natalya, Naomi, Tamina, Brie Bella and finally, AJ being the last eliminated by Nikki Bella. However, there are three other things that I think might happen here. One of which is that Naomi will be the one to knock off AJ, leading to a title match for her in the future. Another is that WWE will go full steam with ALL of the Total Divas staying strong and winning in a clean sweep. Finally, the last option I can see happening is that they will give the win to one of the newcomers, Jojo or Eva Marie, in some kind of a fluke. I don't think AJ Lee is leaving here happy.
PREDICTION: Team Total Divas wins.
Pre-Show Kickoff: The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston
It looks like WWE has completely dropped all semblance of a feud with Miz and the Wyatts as well as Kane and the Wyatts, as well as Kane and Miz, so what the hell, right? Poor Kofi has to lose here, as The Miz's heel turn needs some steam behind it. Otherwise, it will be as pointless as his babyface turn that had nothing going for it.
PREDICTION: The Miz wins.
Intercontinental Championship: Big E Langston (c) vs. Curtis Axel
If WWE wants to get a few more miles out of this, they can have a rematch easily. Then again, Curtis Axel doesn't seem to be worth that much right now, and if his stock is that low, they might want to just move on and give Big E Langston someone else to feud with. Either way, Big E Langston is winning if he faces someone for this title.
PREDICTION: Big E Langston wins.
PREDICTED MATCHES
Dolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow
Ziggler is not getting a prime, worthwhile spot on this card. He's another potential pre-show person and if he does wrestle, it will probably be against Damien Sandow, after their match on Raw.
PREDICTION: It depends, but Sandow would be my bet.
Tyson Kidd vs. Fandango
I expected a mix tag match, but it doesn't look like that will happen now that Natalya and Summer Rae are in an elimination match. This could be a pre-show match or it could be added as a buffer. Or, hell, it might not happen at all. It's a potential, though.
PREDICTION: I'd go with Tyson Kidd, but I don't think it will happen to begin with.
