WWE Battleground 2013 Spoilers

WWE's Battleground new pay-per-view is a brand new event taking the place of Over the Limit. Nothing has been announced yet as far as whether or not it will have a gimmick attached to it, but it's a possibility. Feuds from the event should carry over from the Night of Champions pay-per-view, but hopefully we can get some new ones as well. Here are my predictions for the 2013 WWE Battleground PPV. Vacated WWE Championship: Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton
Logic would dictate that this feud continues even after this and ends at Hell in a Cell before the champion moves on to someone else at Survivor Series. Since Daniel Bryan has won the title at both SummerSlam and Night of Champions, I don't think he'll do it again here. This would be Randy Orton's time to win it and prove himself useful. Maybe he doesn't win it clean. Maybe he cheats in some way and avoids a disqualification. Maybe someone interferes on his behalf. That's up in the air right now. This should be a good match, though.

PREDICTION: Randy Orton wins.


World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Rob Van Dam
Ugh. I didn't want to see this match to begin with. I certainly didn't want a rematch. Expect the same thing you saw before, but with a more definitive ending to it. Who will end up winning this time? I still expect Alberto Del Rio to retain, so I guess he'll just simply make RVD tap out. As of right now, I don't expect Damien Sandow to cash in, still. Del Rio will just feud with someone else hopefully at Hell in a Cell and not have a THIRD match with Rob Van Dam, as I'm so sick of Del Rio having these long, drawn out feuds with people that aren't interesting at all. It's really sucking the World Heavyweight Championship down and it has been for years now.

PREDICTION: Alberto Del Rio retains.


CM Punk vs. Ryback
This was inevitable and a pretty obvious choice of a match for them to go with. The bigger question is whether or not they'll have a gimmick match again at Hell in a Cell or if Punk will move on to something else. This could be a good match, but I don't think it will be anything worth remembering in WWE's history.

PREDICTION: CM Punk wins.


Divas Championship: AJ Lee vs. Brie Bella
I'm a bit surprised that they went with Brie Bella instead of Natalya. Maybe they're saving Natalya for Survivor Series. Meh, who cares? AJ Lee should retain here. I hope she doesn't lose the title any time soon.

PREDICTION: AJ Lee wins.


The Shield (Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns) vs. The Rhodes Family (Cody Rhodes & Goldust w/ Dusty Rhodes)
Since the Rhodes family has everything to lose and The Shield have nothing to gain, it's a pretty simple match that should lead to hopefully Cody getting the pinfall victory for his team. The tag team titles aren't on the line and that means The Shield can easily lose this and not really lose much in terms of their value. This could possibly be the sleeper match of the night, so watch out for it!

PREDICTION: The Rhodes Family wins this one, hands down.


Pre-Show Kickoff: Dolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow
Both of these guys deserve much better than this and both of them have really nothing to gain out of this match. They also both have a chance of losing, as Sandow's been pretty pointless since winning Money in the Bank and Ziggler seems to be in the midst of being punished and losing. Shame. If given proper time, though, these two could have a good match.

PREDICTION: Damien Sandow wins.


Intercontinental Championship: Curtis Axel (c) vs. R-Truth
Why is this match on the card, but there's nothing for The Miz, Big Show, or the big list of tag teams?

PREDICTION: Curtis Axel retains.


Bray Wyatt vs. Kofi Kingston
Uh...we have a match between these two, but no match for The Miz or Big Show or Dean Ambrose? Some bitter, personal feud this is. Kingston happens to be in the ring when Wyatt goes "sup?" basically, and that's it? Wow. They're really half-assing this event, aren't they?

PREDICTION: Bray Wyatt wins.


Seeing as how the card isn't finalized yet, let's take a look at some of the potential matches that seem as though WWE will be adding...

The Miz vs. Big Show
With Big Show knocking out Miz on MizTV, it seems like they're going with this match to some extent. Unfortunately for my Fantasy League team, if they do, Miz is definitely losing.
