WWE Payback 2013 Spoilers

WWE Payback is a new pay-per-view for 2013 that probably will never come back again in the future, but who cares, right? We aren't sure if there will be any gimmicks attached to it, although I highly doubt that there will be. If any gimmick does end up being associated with the pay-per-view, I would assume it wouldn't be an event-wide concept like TLC or Money in the Bank, but rather just a few stipulation matches if that. Here are my predictions for the 2013 WWE Payback PPV. Check back for Payback 2013 results and review coverage here.


WWE Championship [Three Stages of Hell Match]: John Cena (c) vs. Ryback
Since this was a draw, the only logical thing for them to do is to have a rematch. Now that they've switched it from an ambulance match to a Three Stages of Hell match, it has more value. Stage 1 is a lumberjack match, stage 2 is a tables match, and stage 3 is an ambulance match. That being said, I still think that Cena vs Ryback was a mistake. I've had my reservations about this feud from the very beginning and they've done nothing but convince me that I was right from day one, so I have no ability to believe that this will be different when it comes to the outcome. The match itself will almost assuredly be their best, but I still think the end result is going to be disappointing.

PREDICTION: John Cena overcomes the odds and retains (and everyone sees it coming).


Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk
I frankly didn't see this coming at all, so I'm not quite sure what to make of it just yet. These two can definitely pull off a great match, so that's one hell of a positive going into this. The feud is kind of random, but in the grand scheme of things, who cares if it'll potentially be the match of the night?

PREDICTION: I'm about 50/50 but right now I think Punk loses.


Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett (c) vs. The Miz vs. Curtis Axel
Sucks for Fandango, as he probably was going to win the title. Now that Curtis Axel has been inserted into this instead, it seems like he'll be winning the championship. This might work out better in the long run, as Fandango's star isn't as bright as it was that one week.

PREDICTION: Curtis Axel wins the title.


YouTube Pre-Show: Sheamus vs. Damien Sandow
Wow, Sheamus on the pre-show. I never thought WWE would do that. Kudos for not giving him special treatment. Shame he'll probably win the match, but hey, it's a start.

PREDICTION: Sheamus wins because he's Sheamus and WWE doesn't like pushing Sandow for some reason.


Tag Team Championship: The Shield (c) vs. Daniel Bryan & Randy Orton
Ok, so who is turning heel here, Randy Orton or Daniel Bryan? One of them has to. I hope it's Randy Orton instead.

PREDICTION: The Shield wins.


United States Championship: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Kane
Kane has no shot at winning the title here. No shot at all. The rest of the Shield will probably cause a distraction or something and Ambrose will be able to capitalize.

PREDICTION: Dean Ambrose wins.



Divas Championship: Kaitlyn (c) vs. AJ Lee
AJ has to win the title. She has to. It's as simple as that.

PREDICTION: AJ Lee wins the Divas Championship.


World Heavyweight Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
I sincerely hope this is the last time this feud takes place. I don't want to see any rematches after this. It's just felt like it has taken forever to get to this and that it isn't even that interesting to begin with. I'm not particularly excited in this and I don't think it will be that great, as Ziggler will probably take it easy.

PREDICTION: Dolph Ziggler wins.


The card looks pretty much set at this point.
