WWE Royal Rumble 2014 Spoilers

The Road to WrestleMania XXX begins with the 2014 Royal Rumble! This is my favorite pay-per-view that WWE puts on every year so I naturally end up getting really excited about it. Here are my predictions for the 2014 WWE Royal Rumble PPV. Check back for Royal Rumble 2014 results and review coverage here. Royal Rumble Match
Confirmed participants so far: Batista, Alberto Del Rio, Big E Langston, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, R-Truth, Cody Rhodes, Goldust, CM Punk, Fandango, Rey Mysterio, Damien Sandow, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Antonio Cesaro, Darren Young, Jack Swagger, Ryback, Titus O'Neil

There are five spots left (unless WWE decides to go with Bad News Barrett, who they previously advertised but then took him off the list).

Likely participants: Curtis Axel, Khali, Santino Marella, Sin Cara, Brodus Clay, Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal, Tyson Kidd

Every year, I try to go all out and predict all sorts of things about this match as opposed to just the winner. We're talking the Iron Man, who gets the most eliminations, who is eliminated the quickest, the comic relief segment, when the action stops, the "post-elimination elimination", if someone will be attacked before their entrance, the shock entrance, the nostalgic competitor, the tag team members eliminated quickly after each other, the feud that spawns from it, which big-man people team up against, the house cleaner, and the final four. All of that will come in time, but for right now, I'll leave you with just the winner prediction.

WINNER: CM Punk
IRON MAN: CM Punk (since he's coming in from the #1 spot)
MOST ELIMINATIONS: Roman Reigns (second most, CM Punk and Batista tied)
SHORTEST TIME: Darren Young
COMIC RELIEF SEGMENT: None this year.
POST-ELIMINATION ELIMINATION: Ryback might eliminate someone after they toss him out.
THE ACTION STOPS: This won't happen this year.
ATTACKED BEFORE ENTRANCE: Not this year
SHOCK ENTRANCE: Rob Van Dam (if you count that), Sheamus possibly
NOSTALGIA COMPETITORS: New Age Outlaws (possibly)
TAG TEAM SUCCESSION: The Shield and The Wyatt Family members will enter close to each other
THE BIG MAN TEAM-UP: Not this year
THE HOUSE CLEANER: Roman Reigns and Batista
EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF: Dean Ambrose may eliminate Roman Reigns. If not, then this won't happen.
SPAWNED FEUD: If Sheamus returns, it's Sheamus vs Batista. If not, I don't think we'll see one.
FINAL FOUR: CM Punk, Batista, Roman Reigns, Sheamus

WWE Championship: Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena
It makes perfect sense for Cena to be in this spot, not only because he kind of technically has a rematch clause in effect that he can take advantage of, but they can do it and bill it like it's an important match without actually having to waste anything different. Look for Cena to get screwed out of the match by someone like Kane in the Authority so he can fight them at Elimination Chamber and then Triple H at WrestleMania (unless Cena is in the Elimination Chamber itself).

PREDICTION: Randy Orton retains.


Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show
I don't know why they decided to job Mark Henry out so badly to set up a Big Show match, but whatever. Brock Lesnar has to win this, without a doubt. This is just to set him up facing either Undertaker or Batista at WrestleMania. Big Show's going to take the fall just like Mark Henry did.

PREDICTION: Brock Lesnar wins.


Tag Team Championship [Pre-Show Kickoff Match]: Cody Rhodes & Goldust (c) vs. New Age Outlaws
The New Age Outlaws are probably my favorite tag team of all time, so this match intrigues me. I'm hoping Road Dogg and Billy Gunn don't walk away with the titles, though, unless this leads to Goldust turning heel on Cody and a different tag team beating the New Age Outlaws at Elimination Chamber or WrestleMania.

PREDICTION: The Rhodes brothers retain.


Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt
If Bryan's concussion doesn't get in the way, it would make sense to do it here, since both men could end up being in the Elimination Chamber. I hope they don't, though, as I'm really hoping to see Daniel Bryan win the Royal Rumble instead of CM Punk (but I'd rather see CM Punk win than anyone else if that's the case and Bryan can't be in that spot).

PREDICTION: Bray Wyatt wins with help from Harper and Rowan.


Seeing as how the card isn't finalized yet, let's take a look at some of the potential matches that seem as though WWE will be adding...

Divas Championship: AJ Lee (c) vs. Naomi
Maybe they'll give Naomi a chance? Maybe not. It seems more likely that she'd get a shot than anyone else right now. She'll come up short, though, for sure. That is, of course, if this match even happens to begin with. We could very easily get a tag match or something with the divas instead.

PREDICTION: AJ Lee retains.
