WWE Money in the Bank 2011 Predictions of Results & Spoilers

Posted by Anthony Mango Sunday, June 19, 2011

Money makes the world go 'round and in the WWE, it can give you a title shot when you choose. Thankfully, WWE has decided to continue with the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, my favorite of the newer gimmicky ones, and we could be in for some surprises this year.

As always, I will be updating these predictions regularly whenever something new happens, official or spoiler related. For my eventual review and the results, click here.

WWE Championship: John Cena (c) vs. CM Punk
Now that they've got this "Cena is fired if he loses" stipulation going, I doubt CM Punk will walk away with the title. Plus, they need to address why they had Del Rio win the #1 contender's match and he isn't involved. I'm expecting either Punk to have re-signed with the company and to stay after the ppv or that he's leaving and they'll just have him leave with a loss.

PREDICTION: John Cena retains the title and is booed the entire match by the Chicago crowd.

World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton (c) vs. Christian
If by some chance Christian wins the title here, which I think is very, very rare (like 20% probability) then someone will probably cash in and beat him right afterward. I'm fully expecting Orton to retain the title instead and for this feud to end. Now, someone could cash in on Orton, but I don't see that necessarily happening either.

PREDICTION: Randy Orton retains.

Raw Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Alberto Del Rio vs. Alex Riley vs. Evan Bourne vs. Jack Swagger vs. Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio vs. R-Truth
I wonder why Dolph Ziggler isn't involved in this. Granted, that would make it 9 names, but they could have had him in Del Rio's spot with Del Rio tagging up with Mark Henry to face Kane and Big Show. That of course makes me think that Del Rio is going to win the Money in the Bank....or they were just too stupid to realize that they could have done that. If Del Rio doesn't win, then I have no idea who will instead.

PREDICTION: Alberto Del Rio wins Money in the Bank. I think they're going to use that as a means to have him take the title from John Cena, who will win it back before WrestleMania more than likely. If not Del Rio, then potentially Kofi as I can't see the others getting it.

Smackdown Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Daniel Bryan vs. Sin Cara vs. Kane vs. Wade Barrett vs. Sheamus vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Heath Slater vs. Justin Gabriel
While I'm not surprised that the majority of the competitors are who they are, I am surprised that Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel were placed in the match over Ezekiel Jackson and Ted DiBiase.

PREDICTION: Wade Barrett or Cody Rhodes are the only two I can see winning unless they're willing to waste it. If their game plan is to have someone challenge and lose, it could very well be Sheamus. If anyone other than those 3 win, I'll be incredibly shocked. If I had to pick one out of all eight of them for the one to put my full prediction on, it would be Wade Barrett.

Divas Championship: Kelly Kelly (c) vs. Brie Bella
Bathroom break match with Kelly retaining the title. 'Nuff said.

PREDICTION: Kelly wins via pinfall at roughly the 3 and a half minute mark.

Big Show vs. Mark Henry
I don't mind the idea of these two feuding, but I hope that if it continues after this ppv, they add something more to it other than just them attacking one another.

PREDICTION: Henry's gotten the best of Big Show so far so I'm assuming Big Show wins here.

PREDICTED MATCHES:

Zeke could defend his IC title against Ted DiBiase, but I can't really think of anything else that they'd add to the card.
